John de Kirkeby grants to John de Eure and Agnes his wife the homage and service of William del How and his heirs for lands and tenements which he holds in Ingelbi near Grenehou, and also the homage and service of the prioress of Basadale for lands, &c. in the same village, and the homage and service of Thomas the son of Walter Lane for lands, &c. in the same, also the homage, &c. of William the son of Juliana , for lands, &c. in the same. KELYNGTON. Alexander de Kelyngton, clerk, having been unjustly instituted to the church of Kelyngton, resigns the same to Walter the archbp. of York , who with the assent of Robert de Meleburn his successor assigns to the said Alexander the tithes of vegetables of Kelyngton and Beghale until he is again presented to some ecclesiastical benefice. Dated at Scroby, 6 Id. Dec. 1240. Defaced.

Robert, son of Jordan de Lofthus , grants to Hamo Dautrey [de Alta Ripa] three acres and one rood and one toft of land in the territory of Lofthus, which he had by the gift of Alice daugther of Richard de Adel ; paying yearly two shillings to the light "misse familiaris" in the church of St. Mary of York. (c. 1270-80.) .

Hamo de Dautry grants to William de Hameletone, dean of York (1296-1307), his capital messuage and land in Lofthus near Harewode. (c. 1290-1300.) .

Letia, formerly wife of Alan servant (servientis) of Neuton , grants and quitclaims to Richard, son of Elyas , at the wood of Alverton, for a sum of money all right and claim which she has in land and a tenement which Alan her husband sold to Richard the Forester del Runhay . (c. 1260-70.) .

MENSYNGTON. Robert, son of Robert de Burnehaye , grants to Juliana his sister, for her homage and service, for a sum of money "in meo magno negocio", half a croft and Lynebutdale which lies near Kersyde in Mensyngton. (c. 123040.) .

Thomas de Tordewrd quit-claims to Henry, son of Mathew de Mensygton , all right in 4 acres of land and meadow in the field of Mensyngton, in the place called le Letes. (c. 1250-60.) .

Henry, son of Mathew de Mensyngton , grants to Robert de Sutton one rood of meadow lying in the field of Mensyngton, in the place called Parkehyenge. (c. 1280.) .

Alice, relict of Mathew de Mensington , remits and quit-claims to Henry her son all right in the land formerly her husband's in Mensyngton. (c. 1260-70.) .

Henry, son of Mathew de Mensyngton , grants to Robert de Sutton the whole of his arable land with a field adjacent in the field of Mensyngton, in the place called Lehaes. (c. 1270-80.) .

Henry, son of Mathew de Mensyngton , grants to Robert de Sutton 9d. of annual rents in the village of Mensyngton, with the service "unius pensilis" in autumn. (c. 1270-80.)

Gilbert, son of Hugh de Mensyngton , and Juliana his wife grant to Robert de Sutton one toft with a croft in the village of Mensyngton. Dated the Monday next after the feast of the apostles SS. Philip and James, 23 Ed. I.

Walter de Middelton of Burley grants to Richard, son of William 'cum Cartis' of Mensyngton , 6d. of annual rent in the village of Mensyngton. Dated at Otteley the day of the translation of St. Thomas, archbp., 22 Ed. I.

Richard 'cum Cartis' of Mensyngton grants to Robert de Sutton two ridges "siliones" of land in the field of Mensyngton, in the place called le Croftes. Dated the Monday next after the feast of the apostles SS. Philip and James, 23 Ed. I.

Richard, son of Richard le Yykerman of Weston , grants to Marin ("Marinus"), son of Henry de Kelbrock , two acres of land and meadow in the field of Mensyngton. (c. 1280-90.) .

Robert, son of William de Brerehaye , and Angnes his wife grant to William, son of Michael 'ad ductum' of Mensyngton , one toft and croft in the village of Mensyngton, and a meadow in the place called Parke; paying annually to the said Michael 3d. and one reapinghook in August, and to Richard son of Serlo 15d. (c. 1280-90.) .

Henry, son of Mathew de Mensington , grants to William de Brerehaye a certain plot of land with meadow in the field of Mensyngton, in the place called Hallestede. (c. 1280-1290.)

MORTON. Simon de Skestling grants to Emma his daughter two bovates of land in Morton, viz. the two bovates which Cristiana de Giseburne held; for her clothing and necessaries of life with remainder on her death to the convent of St. Mary of Basdal. (c. 1200-10.) .

Henry Staing[reve] , with the consent of Simon his brother and lord, grants to John, son of Waldigg the chaplain , 11 acres of his demesne in the marsh of Neuhay ("Nova haga") and 7 acres above Fultac, paying annually one lb of pepper and one of cummin. (c. 1200-10.) .

Henry, son of Alice de Neuhay, daughter of Henry de Stainegrive , quit-claims to Richard de Happlesthorp the whole of her land in the territory of Neuhay ("Nova haya"), which the said Richard has by charter from the said Alice. (c. 1230-40.) .

Henry, son of Alice de Stainegrive , confirms to Richard de Aplesthorp in the territory of Neuhay ("Nove Haye") one acre of land which he bought of Robert Houthendel of Seleby lying in the marsh, and also 2 other acres in the marsh of the same village, which he bought of Hugh son of Adam , paying annually 2d. (c. 1240-1250.)

Alice de Newhay, daughter of Henry de Staynegrive , sells to Richard de Happlesthorp , for a sum of money which he gave her in her great necessity, 2½ acres of land in New Hay; paying yearly one half penny. (c. 1230-1240.)

Robert Outhendel of Seleby sells to Henry, son of Alice de Stainegrive for 10s. and one "esckeppa" of corn. Witn. Martin provost of Seleby etc. one acre of land in the marsh of Neuhay ("Nova haia"). (c. 1230.)

OSMUNDTHORP. Peter, son of Tomas de Hosmundthor[p] , confirms to Roger, son of Gerard de Hosmundthorp , one bovate of land in the fields of Hosmundthorp, which Adam son of Simon formerly held, one toft which Avicia and Sibilia sisters of the said Tomas formerly held, and one croft; paying annually four shillings. (c. 1230.) .

William, son of Robert of the cemetery, of Allerton , grants to Alexander, son of Alexander de Oustorpe , and his heirs, the whole of his land in Osemundtorpe, which he had of the tenement of Isabella his mother; to hold of the house of the knighthood of the Temple at Neus' paying annually to the said house the due farm. (c. 1260-70.) .
