Indenture dated 19 Jan., 20 Hen. VII (1505), witnesseth that the prior, Rich. Foorthy and convent of Christe Chirche of the Trinite of Gippeswiche have granted to Agnes Crane, widow, their manor called Mynyotts in Creting and Coddenham for 31 years, at an annual rent of £4 l0s.

Confirmation by John [Peckham], archbishop of Canterbury, of the appropriation of the churches of St. Margaret at Leiston (Lestone) with the chapel of St Nicholas at Syswell, St. Andrew of Aldringham, St. Mary at Middleton, and St. Bothulph at Culpho (Colpho), to the abbot and convent of Leystone. Dated at Butley (Buttelee), 4 Kl. Mar. (26 Feb.), 1280/1281).

Appropriation of the church of Theberton (Thebirtone) to the abbot and convent of Leystone, Suffolk, by Henry, bp. of Norwich and Nicholas, the prior, and chapter of Norwich; the old abbey having been destroyed by an inundation of the sea and the new having been burned excepting the charters. Dated 1 May, 1380.

CORTON. John, the abbot, and convent of Leystone indemnify Thomas, bp. of Norwich, and his successors, and the cathedral church of Norwich, by reason of the appropriation of the parochial church of Corton (Cortone) of the patronage at the abbey for first fruits, an annual pension etc. Dated at Leiston (Leystone), 10 July, 1367.

Inquisition of the value of the church of Corton (Gorton), co. Suffolk, at the command of Henry, bp, of Norwich, which church had been appropriated to the use of the abbot and convent of Leystone; reported to the Bishop by Robert de Suttone, canon of St. Pauls and rector of Eyke (Eyk). Dated 30 September, 1389.

An agreement for the securing to the cathedral church of Norwich an annual pension of 4s., from the church of Theberton (Thebirton), appropriated to the abbot and convent of Leystone. Dated at Leiston (Leystone) 15 April, 1381.

Clement, abbot and the convent of Leystone, &c., appoint Richard Robertson and William Styward as their atttorneys to deliver seisin to John Jenney, sen., and William Jenney his son, of certain messuages and tenements in Leiston (Leyston), Knodishall (Knodeshale), &c. Dated 20 April, 29 Hen. VI (1451).

William, the abbot, and the convent of Leystone grant to Thomas [or J....] ... and [ Richolda?] his wife, or 5 marks and 5 .... , four pieces of land which were Edmund the chaplain's lying in the vill of Knodishall (Knoteshale) (?). (c. 1320-30?) [Mutilated and partly effaced.]

William, prior of Mendham (Mendlesham), grants to Robert Dunken of Wetheringsett (Wedringset) one piece of land lying in Mendlesham. Dated at Mendlesham the Sunday next after the feast of St. Peter ad vincula, 27 Ed. III (4 Aug. 1353).

Mendlesham. Indenture made at Mendham abbey (sic), 9 September, 2 Henry VIII (1510), between Thomas Bullok, the prior of the house of our lady of Mendham and the convent, of the one part, and Robert Flouere, "syngilman" of the other part, by which the prior and convent demise a close called Denford to the said Robert. [Partly effaced.]

Writ addressed by king Hen. VIII to the sheriff of Suffolk, to the effect that sir Humphrey Wyngfeld, kt., and others, have recovered in the king's court at Westminster the manors of Mendham Priory (Mendham) and Mendham Kingshall (Kyngeshall), with other rents and lands elsewhere, against Thomas, the prior of Mendham. Dated at Westminster, 18 November, 26 Hen. VIII (1534).

STOKE (Priory of). Hamo Pecche ("Peccatum"), son of Gilbert Peccatum, remits to the prior and convent of Stoke all his right in the tithes of his lordship of Gestingthorpe (Gestinget') [endorsed: 'Gestingetorp']. (c. 1220-30.)

SUDBURY (College of St. Gregory at). Bond given by the warden and brethren of the college of St. Gregory at Sudbury, to pay to Henry, bp. of Norwich, and his successors, an annual pension of two marks, for the first fruits of their church. Dated at Norwich on the feast of St. Luke, evang. (18 Oct.), 1381.

John Cordebef, chaplain, master of the college of St. Gregory, Sudbury, and the brethren there are bound to the prior and convent of the Holy Trinity, Norwich, in a certain annual pension of 5s. on account of the foundation of the college. Dated in the college, 8 Kl. Feb. (25 Jan.), 1375/6.

CRANSFORD. John, the abbot, and convent of Sybeton grant leave to John, bishop of Norwich, to constitute a vicarage in the church of Cransford (Cranesford), Norwich diocese appropriated to them by him, and to have the right of presentation to the same. Dated the 12 Kl. Novemb. (21 Oct.), 1309.

SYBETON (Abbey of). A confirmation by Henry, bp. of Norwich, of the privileges of the abbot and convent of Sybeton at his visitation, they having exhibited their muniments, &c. for the appropriations of the churches of Sibton (Sybeton) with the chapel of Peasenhall (Pesenhale), Cransford (Cranisford), Rendham, Westleton, and Tunstall. Dated 22 January, 1394. [Copies of both Ch. Suffolk 235 and 236]

Certificate of Peter Schelton, LL.B., commissary of Alexander, bp. of Norwich , that at a visitation held 24 November, 1408, in the parish church of Frostenden, the abbot and convent of Sybeton produced evidences of the appropriation of the church of Sibton (Sybeton) with the chapel of Peasenhall (Pesenhale) annexed, and also of the appropriation of the churches of Rendham, Cransford (Cranisford), Westleton, and Tunstall, and repeated at a visitation held in Beccles ("Bekkelys") church 18 June, 1413. Peasenhall.. An inhibition from Roger Radclyff, dean of arches staying the presentation of dom. Thomas Braycrofte to the church of Peasenhall (Pesenale) by the bp. of Norwich, on the representation of the abbot and convent of Sybeton, pending an appeal. Dated at London, 2 Kl. June (31 May), 1466.

Certificate from William Woode, commissary of James, bp. of Norwich , that the abbot and convent of Sybeton exhibited their muniments, &c. concerning the appropriation of the half of the church of Sibton (Sybeton) with the chapel of Peasenhall (Pesenale), the parish churches of Rendham, Cransford (Cranesford), and Westleton, and of Tunstall (Tunstale), at a visitation held at Ipswich 11 October, 1474.

Robert de Burnovill' grants to St. Felix, at Waletone and the monks there, his man Elfric Pipin with all his children, free of all service. For this donation the prior and monks gave to him 10s. (c. 1170-80.) Witn. Roger Bigod his lord.

WALTON, St. FELIX (Priory of). William de Burnevilla grants to the St. Felix and the monks there, his man Eluric Pipin with his children, free of all service except xvd., which Fulk the prior and his successors will give annually to the said William, to be paid by the monks until the death of one of them; and for this grant 20s. are paid. (c. 1160-70.) [Chirograph.]

⟨Walton (?) or Trimley St Martin (?)⟩ William, lord of Grimestune, grants to St. Felix and the monks there, in frankalmoigne, for the souls of his wife and of his successors 12d. from the land which was Eadnoth's, which Roger Cristemasse holds. Isabella, the daughter of Hugh Joye, grants to the church of St. Felix 2d. annual rent in Walton. (c. 1250-70.)

Thomas Wolsey, archbishop of York, remits and quit-claims to the duke of Norfolk, Thomas Wentworth, Philip Tylney, John Cornewales, Edmund Wyndham, and Edmund Knevet, all right, &c. to lands, advowsons, &c. belonging to the priory of Felixstowe, co. Suffolk. Dated 20 October, 21 Hen. VIII (1529). Granted to them by Will. Capon, the master of the College of St. Mary at Gipewic of which he was the founder.
