Dated at Beccles (Becclis) the Sunday next before the feast-of St. Matthew, 22 Ed. I (19 Sept. 1294). Endorsed, "de fine rebellionis contra Regem per homines dicte ville tempore vacantis abbatie."

Alvesbourn or Alnesbourn Priory. Robert, the prior, and canons of Alvesbrunne remit and quit-claim to William de Kirkeby, the prior, and convent of the Holy Trinity, Norwich, all action, right, and claim in 20s. annual rent, assigned to the former by Albert de Nevyle and his heirs out of the half of a certain water-mill in Keswick (Kesewyk), formerly called 'le Oldemylne,' but now destroyed and the arrears of which for 28 years they had claimed; for this remission and quit- claim the said prior and convent of Norwich gave 16 marks of silver. Dated at Norwich the Tuesday next after the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 14 Ed. I (25 Jue 1286).

BRANDESTON. Walter de Ribof grants and confirms to the church of St. James of Dunwich and house of the lepers, and to Hubert, chaplain there, and his decessors, for the health of the soul of H. de Cressi and himself, &c., 40 acres of land in Brandeston (Brantest)', together with other lands, rents, tithes, &c. (c. 1190-1200)

Edmund Lyster, master of the hospital of St. James, apostle, of Donawyc, and the brethren and sisters of the same place, grant to farm to William Burnham of Earl Soham (Earl's Soham) a piece of land in the village of Brandeston (Brandyston), paying annually for the same 3s. 4d. Indenture made at Dunwich (Donewyc) Monday in Pentecost week, 3 Hen. IV (15 May 1402).

STANHAM. Master Symon, son of Bartholomew de Stanham Lambert, grants to the church of the Holy Trinity of Ipswich (Gypeswic), in frankalmoigne, 6d. rent from land in Stanham, called Slohescropht. (c. 1240-50.)

John Cordebef, chaplain, master of the college of St. Gregory, Sudbury, and the brethren there are bound to the prior and convent of the Holy Trinity, Norwich, in a certain annual pension of 5s. on account of the foundation of the college. Dated in the college, 8 Kl. Feb. (25 Jan.), 1375/6.

CRANSFORD. John, the abbot, and convent of Sybeton grant leave to John, bishop of Norwich, to constitute a vicarage in the church of Cransford (Cranesford), Norwich diocese appropriated to them by him, and to have the right of presentation to the same. Dated the 12 Kl. Novemb. (21 Oct.), 1309.

WINGFIELD (College at). Indenture between master Robert Bude, master or provost of the collegiate church of Wingfield, and the brethren of the same house of the one part, who demise to Robert Warner of Winfarthing (Wynferthyng) of the other part, a certain inclosure in Wingfield (Wyngfeld) for 60 years, at an annual rent of 8s. Dated at Wingfield (Wyngfeld), 1 Jan., 27 Hen. VIII (1536). With signatures of five of the brethren.

Laurence Porterose of Long Melford (Melford), .... Sextayn of Aketon, chaplain, John Ormelewe, cutter, of Lound, and Peter Webbe of Acton (Aketon) quit-claim to Roger le Reve of ..., William Bertellor and Roger Pecke of Long Melford (Melford), all their right in all lands and tenements, rents and services in Acton (Aketon), Great Waldingfield, and Sudbury. Dated at Acton (Aketon) the Monday next after the feast of St. Dionisius, 10 Rich. II (15 Oct. 1386).

Robert Thurston, son and heir of Richard Thurston of Great Waldingfield, grants to John Sydey of the same, dyer, and three others, one acre of pasture in Chilton, which his father and others had by deed dated 4 June 9 Hen. VI. Dated at Chilton, 20 Dec., 9 Hen. VII (1493).

Gilebert de Little Waldingefeld grants to Adam de Brantistune, clerk, the whole of a meadow in the village of Little Waldingfield (Little Waldingfeld). For this charter of confirmation the said Adam gave 12d. (c. 1260-70.)

Humphrey of the church ("de Ecclesia") grants to Nicholas, son of Roger de Subir', for his homage and service and eight pence, one piece of land lying in Great Waldingfield or Little Waldingfield (Waldingefeld). (c. 1250-60.)

Richard Talemache and Robert de Aketon, chaplain, grant to Thomas Carbonel and Elizabeth his wife two parts of the manor of Waldingfield Hall Carbonells (Great Waldingfeld) with the advowson of the churches of Chilton and Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfeld), also a third part of the manor held by sir Robert de Bosco and Christiana his wife, as dowry of the said Christiana. (c. 1275.)
