RUMBURGH (?). Partially illegible grant to John Qwedok(?) of land in Rumburgh (Rum...). Dated at "Rumburgh (...bure ) predicti" the Monday next after the feast of the Epiphany, 36 Ed. III.

SNAPE. Indenture made 1 March, 9 Q. Anne, by which sir Henry Johnson of Friston (Friston Hall, Suffolk), knt., demises to Robert Hayward of Snape certain land in Snape for 6 years, at an annual rent of £35.

SANDCROFTE. The will of William Todd of Sandcrofte, dated 2 Sept., 1545.

John Stede of Blundeston (Blundistun) grants to Robert Eysman, for his homage and service and 4½ marks sterling, two acres of his land in the fields of Somerleyton (Sumerletune). (c. 1250-60.)

STANTON. Katherine Busshop, lately the wife of John Busshop of Stanton, deceased, grants to Edmund Man of Stanton, John Shepherd of Bridgham (Bredgeham), and John Fyce of Stanton, a messuage and land called Tabbards in exchange for one piece of land of 8 acres and one rood lying in Stanton. Dated at Stanton, 9 March, 9 Ed. IV (1469).

STRATFORD. John Chyrchawe and John ...ell demise to John Leech of Stratford a certain tenement in the village of Stratford. Dated at Stratford, 8 May, 3 Ed. IV (1463).

THORNHAM. John Abot of Hacheston (Hachetune) and Agnes his wife grant to Hubert, son of Richard Bern of Braiseworth (Brisewrd) , for his homage and service and for 15 marks of silver, three pieces of land with a messuage in Thornham Magna (Great Thornham), rendering annually one clove. (c. 1270-80.)

Richard Frere of Mendham, esq., and William Freston, citizen and grocer of London, remit and quit-claim to Thomas Wyseman, esq., all their right to rents and services issuing out of the lands, &c. of the said Thomas in Thornham Magna (Thornham) or elsewhere in the county of Suffolk. Dated 30 December, 38 Hen. VIII (1546).

THWAITE. Augustine de Theyt grants to Manser de Holegat of Wickham Skeith (Wykham), for his homage and service and 2s., one piece of land in the parish of Thwaite (Theyth) in a field called Suthfeld, rendering annually three half-pence. (c. 1240-50.)

THWAITE and ALEBY. Fine made at Westminster the 15th day from the feast of the Holy Trinity, 16 Ed. I, by which John, son of Robert de Weyton, and Sarah his wife acknowledge the right of Matilda, formerly wife of Andrew de Branton, to 23 messuages, 130 acres of land &c. in Thwaite and Alby (Aleby).

Gilbert Depenham and John and William Rookwode demise to Andrew Botiller knt. and Katherine his wife and their heirs the manors of Waldingfield Hall Carbonells (Great Waldingfeld) and Chylton in co. Suffolk, with the advowson of the churches of the same, which they had with others by the gift of the said sir Andrew Botiller, kt. Dated at Great Waldingfield or Little Waldingfield (Waldingfeld), 10 Oct., 1 Hen. V (1413).

Ralph Barton, clerk, James Rutlond of Sudbury (Sudbiry), and others, demise to Isabel Rutlonde, Roger Ponder and James Rutlonde of Great Waldingfield or Little Waldingfield (Waldyngfeld) one piece of pasture in the village of Great Waldingfield (Great Waldyngfeld). Dated at Great Waldingfield (Great Waldyngfeld), 19 Sept., 2 Henry VII (1486).

WALSHAM. Helyas, son of Adam, the priest of North Walsham (Walesham) , grants to Alice and Cecilia his sisters half a rood of land lying in the village of North Walsham (Walesham), in Millecrofte (Millecroft), for six shillings, rendering annually one pence. (c. 1250-60.)

Commission from Thomas, the prior, and chapter of Rochester, to their bretheren John, keeper of the cell of St. Felix, Walton, Norwich diocese, William de Schotindon, sacrist of Rochester, Thomas de Hakyntone, John de Grenestrete, and John de Westham, to elect a bishop of Rochester, the see being then vacant. Dated in their chapter of Rochester, 8 Id. June, 1291.

Roger de Multon grants to Hugh de Bakinghetch and Peter de Lausele [sc. Lawshall], merchants of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund), for 6 marks one piece of arable land lying in the field of Westley (Westle), reckoned at six acres in the field called le Dune. (c. 1270-80.)

Roger, son of Roger de Multone, sells and quit-claims to William, the prior, and hospital of St. Peter of St. Edmund all his right and claim in six acres of arable land lying in the field of Westley (Westle), in the field called le Dune. Dated 29 Ed. I. (Without date of day)

Robert Gyffard grants and confirms to John de Brom and three others eight acres of land lying in the fields of Westley (Westle) near Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund). Dated at Westley (Westle) the Tuesday on the feast of St. Crispin and Crispinian, martyrs, 30 Ed. III.

WESTON. Roger de Aph... of Weston remits and quit-claims to William son of Ralph 'le Ventrer' all his right in one halfpenny rent which he was accustomed to receive at Michaelmas of William, son of Margaret Helle of Weston , from a certain piece of land in Weston. Dated at Weston the Sunday next after the feast of St. James, apostle, 2(?) Ed. III.

WESTROW (in Middenhale?) Illegible charter. Entirely effaced; but endowed in a 15th cent. hand as being "a dede of a messuage, a crofte and a meadow in Westgoldham" from John Baker, John Gregs, and Bartholomew ... [Temp. Ed. III.]

WETHERINGSETT ... relict of Ralph [Aspall?] of Wetheringsett, grants to William her son all her right in a piece of land in the parish of Wetheringsett (Wetheringsete), in the meadow called Colingforthe medwe. (c. 1260-70.)

WEYBRIDGE. The will of Edward Curson late of Weybread (Waybridge, co. Suffolk), gentleman, dated 1651, to be buried at 26 May, Burnham Overy (Burnham Overy, Norfolk).

WICKHAM. Lefseda, the daughter of Thorold de Wycham, widow, grants to Richard, son of Robert de Whatefelde, the whole of her land and one messuage which he held in Wickham Skeith (Wycham), in relation for his guardianship of her during her life; rendeding the services [severally specified] due to the lords of the fee. John Gernun of Wickham Skeith (Wycham) quit-claims to Richard son of Robert de Watefeld the whole of the land which Lefseda, who was the daughter of Thorald de Wycham, gave to the said Richard in the village of Wickham Skeith (Wycham), paying annually 6d. (c. 1240-50.)
