John Chapeleyn of Norton near Daventre binds himself to William Smyth of Muscote in a sum of £100 to be paid at the feast of Easter next. Dated March? 17 Hen. VI.

The Hall Tenement. Thomas Halle of D⟨aventry⟩ demises to William Boteler of the same and Isabella his wife a plot in D⟨aventry⟩ , for their lives, near the holding of John Staverton on the one side and the Runbylons high road on the other, from Michaelmas next. … Rent: 7/- and a little pig. West-Haddon. William Dycon of Ravenesthorp , William Lolle of Bukton , and John Thomasse, junior of W⟨est⟩ H⟨addon⟩ , quit-claims to William Sylcok of W⟨est⟩ H⟨addon⟩ their right in those 20 acres of land lying in W⟨est⟩ H⟨addon⟩ which they formerly held jointly of the gift of the said W. An acknowledgment by John, bishop of Lincoln , of the receipt of 8s. of the prior of Daventry, by the name of an annual pension, ending Michaelmas last, for the appropriation of the churches of Daventry, Staverton, West Haddon, and Norton. Dated 6 October, after 1480 "anno domini millesimo ... et nostre transl[ationis] anno [sexto?]". [The bishop therefore was John Russell, translated from Rochester in Sept. 1480. John Chedworth, the bishop in 1452, had not been translated.] .

Staverton. Mutilated indenture by which William, prior, &c., of D⟨aventry⟩ grant to John Couper alias Boteler of D⟨aventry⟩ , yeoman, and Robert Cokkes of Staverton, husbandman, all their tithes and oblations in Staverton for 12 years. Rent: 53/4 & the provision of a chaplain as vicar. Given in the chapter-house. ⟨29 Sept. 1467.⟩

Welton. Thomas Wolff of Welton grants to Robert Levesham formerly son of Richard Levysham , William Assheby, gentleman, John Horne, gentleman, Thomas Stanbrigge , William Fenall and William Perkyns all the lands in W⟨elton⟩ which were of the said Richard Levesham . Preston. Robert, prior &c. of D⟨aventry⟩ grant to Richard of Linns for his homage and service, a place in Preston and two acres of land in the same which William Hert once held from them, viz.: 1 acre above le Gonbyshul, and the other at Caldewellepayd. Rent: 3/- to the Almonry. [Apparently only a copy.] ⟨1425–1444.⟩

Welton. John Coylyn receiver of the rents of the prior of D⟨aventry⟩ , &c., of the house of Jesus of Bethlehem (of Shene) has received 13/4 from the prior of D⟨aventry⟩ for a portion of the tithes of Welton. ⟨March 1481–March 1482.⟩
