VIII (1527), by which Agnes, late wife of Robert Stares of Blundeston , and William Wrentham, executors of the will of the said Robert Stares, sell to John Harvy of Oulton, gent. a close of ten acres called Doles Lombys and a piece of copyhold in Flixton St Andrew (Flixton), co. Suff. for £10.

Indenture dated 6 April 22(?) Queen Elizabeth, by which John Jernegan of Somerleyton demises to John Warde one marsh in the village of Flixton St Andrew (Flixton) for 800 years at an annual rent of 6s. 8d.

Indenture made 25 March, 8 James I (1610), by which Clement Bacon, parson of Flixton St Andrew (Flixton), leases to John Symonds of St. Stephen's, Norwich his rectory &c. of Flixton St Andrew (Flixton) for 21 years at an annual rent of l0s.

Edward Elles of Blundeston and Umfrey Croswell of the same place quit-claim to sir John Wentworth of Somerleyton (Somerleton), knt. all their right and claim to commonage in Flixton St Andrew (Flixton Fermside) adjoining to the great common water in Blundeston. Dated 23 December, 5 Chas. I, 1629.

Indenture made 29 June, 5 Charles I (1629), by which Anthony Wilkenson of Burnham Market (Burnam Westgate, co. Norfolk), clerck, demises to Sir John Wentworth the free chapel or rectory of Flixton St Andrew (Flixton) for 40 years, at an annual rent of one peppercorn if demanded.

Indenture dated 1 June, 29 Elizabeth (1587), by which John Kemp of Antingham (Antyngham, Norfolk), leases to William Sydnor of Blundeston the waters and fishing of the manor of Caldecott Hall (Calcott) within the parish of Fritton for ... years, paying annually for the same a certain quantity of eels and roach.

Indenture made [9?] March, 21 Hen. VII, by which sir Robt. Drury, knight, and Edward Jernegan, esq., purchase of Henry Reppes, the father, and Henry Reppes his son, all their lands, tenements, rents, and services in Herringfleet (Heryngflet), Ashby (Askeby alias Asheby), and Somerleyton (Somerleton).

Indenture dated 18 December, 36 Hen. VIII (1544), by which the dean and chapter of Norwich demise to John Jernegan their manor, church, and parsonage of Hopton, paying annually for the same £6, for a term of ten years.

Indenture, dated 20 March, 21 Elizabeth (1579), by which John Jernegan of Somerleyton, esq., demises to William Roberdes of Swanton Abbot (Swynston, Norfolk), gent., all his right and interest for the remaining term of years in the manor and rectory of Hopton, in consideration of a payment of £100. Contains a clause of redemption on payment of the said sum of £100, &c.

Indenture witnessing that Thomas Owden of Somerleyton (Somerleton) demises to John Bayly of Gorleston-on-Sea (Gorleston) and others, certain lands, rents, and appurtenances in Lound, Ashby (Asskeby), Somerleyton (Somerleton), and Blundeston, for a certain term of years. Dated 10 December, 12 Edward IV (1472).

An indenture by which John Jernegan and Katherine his wife of Somerleyton demise to James Towne of Lound (Lownde) a tenement called Guntons, containing 15 acres, for 77 years, at an annual rent of 56s. 2d. Dated 20 October, 16 Elizabeth (1574).

Indenture of agreement made 8 April, 23 Elizabeth (1581), made between Roger Castell, esq., to sir Will. Brook, lord Cobham, John Brooke alias Cobham, his brother, and Edmund Bedingfield, esq. by which R. Castell undertakes to infeoff the said John Brooke alias Cobham and others, of and in the manor of Stalham's in Lound (Stallams) in Lound (Lownd), and of and in the advowson of the parish church of Lound (Lownd), with all lands and tenements in Lound (Lownd), and in Blundeston, Herringfleet (Heringflete), and Hopton St Margaret (Hopton), which were of the inheritance of one John Jernegan of Somerleyton, to hold the same to the use of Katherine, wife of the said John Jernegan, for her life, and at her decease for the use of the daughters of the said John. [Slightly mutilated.]

John Wentworth of Somerleyton (Somerleton) discharges Katherine Jernegan, widow of John Jernegan of Somerleyton (Somerleton), from all suits during her life upon a bond given for the performance of certain covenants by her third daughter Katherine wife of Wymond Carey, esq. respecting the manor called Stalham's in Lound (Stalhams in Lound). Dated 2 Nov., 41 Q. Eliz.

⟨Lowestoft⟩ Indenture dated 14 Nov., 12 Hen. VII (1496), by which John Cowper, carter, of Lowestoft, sells to William Cowper his son, for a payment of £22, "hys place as it [is] sette in the Southende".

Bond given by Matthew Burward, dated 3 ... 30 Elizabeth, for conveyance of property in Lowestoft and Gunton to Anthony Hutton(?) and his wife Audrey. [Partly illegible]

Humfrey Yermonth, gent., of Blundeston (Blondyston, co. Suffolk), leases to John Everarde of Lowestoft, mariner, a messuage called Wyatts &c. in Lowestoft, for 10 years, at an annual rent of 20s. Dated 26 Sept., 27 Hen. VIII (1535).

Indenture made 6 May, 3 and 4 Philip and Mary, by which Humphrey Yermouth of Blundeston sells to Humphrey Brewster of Cordoke five pieces of land in Oulton (Olton).

Deed specifying the conditions of a charter of enfeoffment, dated ... June [18?] Ed. IV, of the manor of Somerleyton (Somerleton) and the church of Bradwell, &c. granted by John [Jernegan] to Thomas Bryan, knt. and others on the occasion of his being about to pass with the king into France, mentions his wife Isabel. [Partly effaced.] [It was in 1475 that Edw. IV made his French expedition.]

The will of Richard Hawkyn, otherwise Crystmas, of Somerleyton (Somerletown), dated [30?] Jan. 1490. [A large part effaced.]

Indenture made at Somerleyton (Somerleton), 8 September, 1485, between John Jernegan, esq., of the one part, and Gyelys Brewes, gentleman, of the other, being a grant to the said John Jernegan of a tenement in Ashby (Askeby) called 'Bukmongere's' with 32 acres of land. (See MS. Ch. Suffolk 756.)

Indenture made 1 July, 23 Hen. VIII (1531), by which Thomas Jermyn, esq., of Rushbrooke (Rushbrok), binds himself in a sum of one hundred marks to sir William Kyngeston, knyght, and dame Mary his wife, to observe the covenants contained in a lease for 66 years of the manor of Somerleyton (Somerleton) for the payment of the yearly rent of £54.

Indenture made 11 September, 13 James I (1615), by which John Wentworth of Somerleyton (Somerleton) grants to William Southwell of Darsham the office of steward, coroner, and clerk of the market within the liberties of .... ,
