Stephen de Stallis grants to the Hospital of St. John, W⟨allingford⟩ , in free alms, a corner messuage in the parish of St. Leonard’s, by the messuage formerly of Henry of Medford , opposite the messuage of Bartholomew Fryburne within the South Gate of W⟨allingford⟩ . Rent: 12d. to the fee farm of W⟨allingford⟩, and a clove gilly flower to the grantor. Witnesses: Alexander de Stallis, mayor, Richard of Britwalton , master Peter of Benham , William Blawe , Eustace Clem[ent] , John Hynner , Richard Mariot , bailiffs. ⟨c. 1230–c. 1240.⟩ The whole is excellently preserved. Richard son and heir of John de Louches , of W⟨allingford⟩ , quit-claims to William Blakemer of Cokham and Cecilia his wife, his right in one acre of land in Clopcote, which Cecilia had of the gift of Jordan Huberd of C⟨lapcote⟩ , and which lies between the land of Jordan le carpenter and that of Ralph le arblaster , and is called la Leightone acre. Indenture witnessing that, although Walter Cirpsse of Wallingford has infeoffed William Cornwaille of the same place with one acre of meadow with appurtenances in Clopcote, lying in a common meadow called 'le Northmede,' as appears in a certain charter then made and deposited by consent of the parties in the hands of Thomas Sturbourn , by which he has received full seisin, nevertheless the same William is willing and grants for himself and his heirs, that if the said Walter and his heirs pay to him or his attorney in Wallingford 4 marks, then the said charter of feoffment to be void. Dated at Clopcote the Monday next after the feast of St. Agatha the virgin, 18 Ed. III.

Nicholas, rector of the church of South Morton , Alice atte Russhe , and Alice Foliot , executors of the will of John atte Russhe , grant to Alexander de Cholseye, rector of Chinnor , and others, 37 acres of arable land in Clopcote near Wallingford. Dated at Clopcote the Sunday after the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin, 36 Ed. III.

Richard of Lichfeld, chaplain, grants to Alexander of Cholseye, rector of Chinnore , Thomas of Kyngesburi, vicar of Harwelle , Robert Wolueleghe, vicar of Westchurche , and John of Estburi, junior, 5½ acres of arable land in C⟨lapcote⟩ . viz.: 2½ acres at le Buttes on the west of the highroad leading to le Barge, one acre at the quarry, one acre at le Shitehap, one acre at the head of Thistleforlong, abutting on the field of Sottewelle.
