⟨Wortham (?)⟩. Symon de Hotone and Eglentin his wife grant to Gilbert Manton of Wortham (Wrtham) for 6s. one piece of land computed at half an acre in the field of Litlemor, paying annually for the same 2d. (c. 1280-90.)

Giles de Wachesham, kt., confirms to William de Hereford, rector of half the church of Wortham, for the sum of two marks the homage of Richard, son of Hervy Ingold, with all his issue and chattels. (c. 1260.)

Henry de Fincham, chaplain, grants to Hugh, son of Robert Hare of Wortham (Wrtham) , for his homage and service, one messuage and all that belongs to it in Wortham (Wrtham), called Chelewalvestuft, paying yearly 12d. (c. 1280-90.)

William de Hereford, rector of half of the church of Wortham, grants to Richard, son of Hervy Ingold (whom sir Giles de Wachesham gave unto him with his issue), to be free with all that belongs to him, for which he shall pay one penny yearly at the altar, on the day of Nativ. B.V.M. for the maintenance of the light, and to the grantor and his heirs three roots of ginger. (c. 1260.)

Simon ... grants to John ... of the same village and his heirs, twenty pence of annual rent that he was accustomed to receive in the village of Wortham. Dated at Wortham .... 2 Hen. VI. [Partly effaced.]

WRATTING (Great). Confirmation by Walter, bp. of Norwich, of a composition between the abbey and monks of Bec, and Walter, rector of the church of Great Wratting, concerning the tithes of Great Wratting, as settled in 1247 by the priors of Benetlay and Hermodesworth, papal delegates. Dated at Norwich, iij Kl. May, 1248.

Peter de Taleworth, kt., grants to Robert his son the tenement which Alice le Roc of Little Sampford (Little Samford) formerly held in the village of Great Wratting (Great Wrattinge), paying annually sixpence. (c. 1260-70.)

Returns of the execution of a writ dated 3 July, 4 Hen. IV (1403), to the sheriff of Suffolk, that he shall make replevin to Philip Miller of Great Wratting (Great Wrottyng) of his cattle which Mirabella Geddyng and others took and detained.

Symon, abbot, and the convent of Bury St. Edmund grant to the five chaplains the chapel of St. John the Baptist within their manor of Palgrave, in frankalmoigne, one messuage in the village of Redgrave in perpetuity, paying annually for the same 6d. (c. 1270.)

Adam Fairman of Northmersk (?) grants to Richard Cok, burgess of Great Yarmouth (Great Jernemuth) and Avicie his daughter a piece of a marsh and a piece of meadow in Herringfleet (Herlingflet). Dated at Great Yarmouth (Great Jernemuth), 33 Edw. fil. Hen., without date of day.

Sir Richard Waldegrave acknowledges to have received of John Doyle 20s. as a reasonable aid both for making Richard his eldest son a knight, and for marrying Isabella his daughter. Dated 12 July, 28 Hen. VI (1450)

CHARSFIELD. Indenture witnessing that on St. Michael's day, 12 Hen. VII, at Letheringham (Letheryngham), between Henry, the prior, and canons of St. Mary, Letheryngham, on the one part, and Thomas Robertsunne of Charsfield (Charsfeld) on the other part, viz. that the said prior and canons grant to the said Thomas 4 pieces of land in Charsfield (Charsfeld), lying in a field called 'Le Sondes,' in Aldeburghfeld, for 60 years, at an annual rent of 12d. [Wrongly listed as Ch. Suffolk 219.]

MANTHORP. Geoffrey, son of Roger Burkard of Manthorp (Manethorpe), grants for 12d. to John, son of Robert de Manethorpe, one acre of land in Manthorp (Manetorpe). (c. 1250-60.)

Simon Greswelle of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund) grants to William Galyon of Mildenhall (Mildenhale) and others one messuage in Mildenhall (Mildenhale) at 'le West rowe' called 'Brounsyerd' with a croft and meadow. Dated at Mildenhall (Mildenhale) the Saturday next after the feast of St. Leonard, abbot, 4 Hen. V.

William, son of Adam Gurle of Mantorpe , grants to Robert Assheman and his heirs for 30 shillings one piece of land lying in Somerleyton (Sumerletun): rendering yearly one halfpenny. (c. 1280-1290.)

John Jernegan, esq., and 2 others quit-claim to ... all right in a messuage, croft, and land in the village and field of Somerleyton (Somerleton), which they had by demise of John Matson and others, 26 Hen. VI. Dated 10 March, 38 Hen. VI (1460). [Mutilated.]

John Jernegan, Richard Good and Thomas Kepstere grant land &c. in Somerleyton (Somerleton) to John Ive, clerk, Edmund Steyngate, and Thomas Wewyn. Dated 21 [?] September, 20 Hen. VI. [In great part illegible.]

Indenture between sir John Hoioun, knt. and Peter [Gernegan] respecting various houses and buildings etc. Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton), Wednesday after feast of St. Andrew, 12 Edw. III. [The greater part effaced.]

Robert Ive, esq., grants to John Crane one piece of land in Little Stonham, containing 24 acres. Dated 16 August, 1468.

SUDBURY. William de Grey of Great Cornard (Cornerte) remits and quit-claims to John Carbonel all his right of common in a meadow of the aforesaid John's called 'Chiltonmedewe,' near Sudbury (Subir)'. (c. 1270-80.)

Stanford. Humphrey, son of Herbert de Waldingefeld, with the consent of Ida his wife, grants to Matilda, daughter of Alan de Chastillun, for her homage and service and 4s. 8d., one piece of his land to inclose and build upon, paying annually to him and his heirs 1½d. (c. 1224-30.)

John, son of Nicholas de Wygeberthe, remits and quit-claims to William, son of Alan de Goldingham, as his chief lord, for forty shillings all right and claim in a tenement which Walter of the marsh ("de marisco") of Westhorpe (Westorpe) held of the said John to his ancestors in the same village, also in two tenements in Great Waldingfield or Little Waldingfield (Waldyngfeld) held respectively by Will. de Feypo and Rich. son of Matthew de Subire and 3s. annual rent from the latter. (c. 1260-70.)

WOODBRIDGE (Priory of). John de Hadeleye, prior of St. Mary, Wodebrigge, and canons of the same, grant to John dil Wode of Brandeston (Brandiston), one piece of land in Brandeston (Brandiston), at an annual rent of 8d. Dated at Woodbridge (Wodebregge) the Friday next after the feast of St. John ante port. Lat., 24 Ed. III (7 May 1350).

ACTON. John, son of Robert Carbonel, grants to Hugh de Grangia and Dionisia his wife, for 50s. in hand paid, a certain pasture with trees and hedges, at an annual rent of 16d. Dated the Sunday on the feast of St. ... [One half effaced.] (c. 1300)

BLUNDESTON. Thomas Erpyngham, Miles de Stapilton, Brian de Stapilton, Roger de Boys, knights, Oliver Groos, and John de Boys, esqrs., quit-claim to Oliver Roberd of Ingham all their right in the advowson of the church of Blundeston. Dated at Blundeston, 20 September, 2 Hen. V (1414).
