COMBS, &c. Richard de Boylynd and Matilda his wife grant to Roger fitz-Peter fitz-Roger fitz-Osbert and Sarah his wife 28s. 4½d. of annual rents arising from lands &c. in Combs ('Cambes') and elsewhere, for the sum of £20. (c. 1280-90.) [Mutilated.]

John Folour of Sudbury, butcher, Henry Turnour, and 5 others enfeoff John Folour, mercer, Thomas Ayloff, and 6 others with all those lands and tenements in Great Cornard, lately demised to them together with William Skalder and two others. Dated at Great Cornard, 4 September, 16 Ed. IV (1476).

CREETING ST. MARY, CREETING ALL SAINTS, and CREETING ST. OLIVE. Sir Ralph de Buckyngge, kt., appoints Hamo del Wode his attorney to deliver seisin to William del Wode of Creeting St Mary (Cretyngge St. Mary) of one curtilage in the same village. Dated at Ashbocking (Assch' near Helmingham) the Sunday next after the feast of St. Botulph, 20 Ed. III. [See Ch. Suffolk 626.]

Edmund Langeman of Coddenham (Codenham) grants to John Colman, sen., son of John Colman of Coddenham (Codenham), one annual rent of 5s. going out of those lands and tenements in Creeting St Mary (Cretyng St Mary) and Creeting All Saints (All Saints). Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Saturday in the feast of the Translation of St. Thomas, martyr, 9 Hen. VI.

CRUCHESTOKE, co. Norfolk. Isabella, daughter of Thomas de Rikinghale, grants to sir John de Valibus (Vaux), son of Oliver de Valibus (Vaux), 16d. of annual rent from a tenement in the fields of Stoke Holy Cross (Cruchestoke), paid to her by John Herbert, villein of the said sir John; rendering yearly one clove. (c. 1250-60.)

CULPHO and TUDNAM. Indenture made 20 December, 1572, 15 Elizabeth, by which Robert King of Ipswich (Ipswick), in consideration of a marriage between himself and Anne Withepoll and 200 marks, covenants with Edmund Withepoll of Ipswich (Ipswick) to assure to the said Anne £20 annually from lands in Culpho (Culphoe) and Tuddenham St Martin (Tudnam), co. Suff.

DEBACH. William Gouthe of Clopton (Cloptone), on the vigil of Easter, 31 Ed. I, grants to John, son of Alexander Norman of Clopton (Cloptone) , one piece of land in the parish of Debach, to the sum of 6s. for four years, paying afterwards one mark annually.

DEBENHAM and ASPAL. Thomas Bedyngfeld, William Pakke of Bedingfield (Bedyngfeld), William Revet of Rishangles (Ryshanglys) and Robert Chittyng, late of Southolt (Southall), demise to Robert Lyis of Aspall (Aspale), Jane Pecot, late the wife of Matthew Pecot, and others, lands, tenements, &c. in Debenham (Debynham) and Aspall (Aspale). Dated at Aspall (Aspale), 4 November, 20 Hen. VII (1504).

DENHAM. The inquisition post-mortem on sir Edward Lewknor, kt., taken at Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund) 22 January, 3 James I (1606).

Grant from .... and John son of ... to ... [Almost entirely effaced.] Dated Sunday before feast ... 14 Edward III.

John Lynne of Edwardstone (Edwardleston) grants to Thomas Martell, esq., and five others, all his lands, tenements, &c. in the villages of Edwardstone (Edwardeston), Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfield ) and Little Waldingfield, Groton (Groten), and Milden (Mildynge). Dated at Edwardstone (Edwardeston), 26 August, 8 Hen. V (1420).

⟨Elveden (?)⟩. Walter, son of Warine son of ... of Elveden (Elvedune) grants to [Peter?] son of Thomas of Elveden (Elvedene), certain lands for [40s.?] and 3d. paying 4d. annually. [Partly effaced.] (c. 1250-60)

William de Lerlingge, rector of the church of Larling (Lerlinge), grants to Richard de Lerlinge and William and Robert his sons ("meis"), his messuage in Elveden (Elvedene). [Temp. Ed. I.] (c. 1280-90?) .

Will in which all the earlier part with name and date is effaced. Apparently dated in endorsement of probate, 11 Oct. 1401.

EUSTON. Edmund Rokewoode of Euston, esq., son and heir of Roger Rokewoode, late of Euston, confirms to master William Fotere, clerk, the whole of his manor of Euston with the advowson of the church. Dated and signed at Euston, 20 August, 5 Hen. VIII (1513).

FAKENHAM, &c. An exemplification of a recovery inrolled Easter term, 20 and 21 Henry VIII, Roll 104, by which Richard Candysshe, William Latymer, John Valentyne, Robert Goodwyn, and Robert Dobet impleaded Robert Brounde concerning the manors of Payton hall, Russells (Russells in Fakenham), and Russells (Russells in Chesylford), with appurtenances, and likewise certain land, brushwood, rent, &c. in Falkenham (Fakenham), Chillesford (Chesylford), Bawdsey (Bewedesey), Alderton, Sutton, Shottisham (Shatesham), Kirton (Kyrton), Walton, Orford, Whavensden, Sudbourne (Sudborn), Rampfold, and Ipswich. Dated at Westminster, 28 April, 21 Henry VIII (1529).

FOXHALL, CODDENHAM, CRETING, and STONHAM. Sir Thomas Pope, kt., for a certain consideration gives seisin to sir John Jermy, kt., the manors of Foxhall, Coddenham St Johns (Codenham), Creeting All Saints (Creting), and Stonham, formerly possessions of the priory of the St. Trinity at ⟨Ipswich⟩. Dated 20 September, 37 Hen. VIII (1545). (Mutilated.)

Framlingham. Richard de Swynbume, master of the grammar schools of Framlingham, and Joan his wife, daughter of Geoffrey Dynes, grant to John de Paston of the same place one piece of pasture called 'Herstwelille.' Dated at Framlingham the .... after the feast of the apostles SS. Peter and Paul. .. Ed. III. (c. 1330-40)

GORLESTON. Joan, relict of William de ... quit-claims to Geoffrey de B... , for a certain sum of money, one plot of land in Gorleston-on-Sea (Gorlestone). Dated at Gorleston-on-Sea (Gorlestone) the Saturday next after the feast of All Saints, 8 Ed. II.

GROTON. Nicholas Cokerel of Groton (Groten) grants to Henry Melksop of Milden (Melding) for 15s. one piece of arable land in the village of Groton (Groten). (c. 1270-80.)

CRETINGHAM. Richard Flur(?) grants to sir Roger le Denays of Cretingham (Gretingham), the lady Matilda his wife, William le Denays their son and his wife and Roger his son, and others, for 6 marks of silver sterling, certain land in the village of Creeting St Peter (Stepel Creeting)(?). [Temp. Ed. I (c. 1260-70).] [Partly effaced.]
