BBAMPSTON. Indenture between Adam Reyner, master of the hospital of St. James, Donewic, of one part, and John Crakenell of Brampton (Bramston) of the other, witnesseth that the master and brethren and sisters of the hospital have demised to the said John two pieces of land lying in Brampton (Bramston) for 30 years, at an annual rent of 2s. l0d. Dated on the feast of St. Mary Magdalen, 15 Hen. VII (22 July 1500).
Indenture made on the feast of St. Michael, 21 Henry VII (29 Sept. 1505), by which Adam Reyner, master of the hospital of St. James in Donwich, grants to James Davy of Brampton (Bramston) a messuage &c. in Brampton (Bramston) for a term of 76 years, paying yearly 10s. to the use of the said hospital.
The will of the lady Beatrice relict of sir Peter, son of Roger Fitz-Osbert , dated Saturday after feast of St. Hilary, [42 or 52] Hen. III. To be buried in the Herringfleet (chapel of St Olave) near her husband. Bequest to her son Roger. [Greater part effaced.]
HERRINGFLEET. Ralph, son of William de Ferya, grants to the church of Herringfleet (St. Olave, Herlingflete), in frankalmoigne, 7d. annual rent, viz. from Hugh, son of Gilbert de Blundeston, and his heirs, 6d. for a tenement in Somerleyton, and 1d. from Hugh de Elmesete for a piece of land in Herringfleet (Herlingflete). John Gernegan grants to his father Peter Gernegan and Elenor his wife the moiety of the manor of Somerleyton (Somerlestone), with a mill etc. to hold for their lives paying annually 40s. Dated at Somerleyton (Somerletone) ... (c. 1320-30.)
William Dale, prior of the priory of St. Olave, Heringflete, grants to ... Owden of Somerleyton, son and heir of Thomas Owden, a certain annual rent from two cottages in Ashby (Askeby). Dated .... December, 5 Hen. VIII (1513). [Partly effaced.]
HANFORD. William de Badele quit-claims to the church of SS. Peter and Paul of Gypewic', in frankalmoigue, the gift which Roger de Badele his brother made to them of the half of the Hanford Mill (mill of Haneford). (c. 1230-40.)
Gerard, son of Arnold de Stanham, chaplain, grants to the church and canons of the Holy Trinity, Ipswich (Gipewic'), in frankalmoigne, the whole of his land with messuage and wood and appurtenances in Cretinge and Stanham of the fee of the monks of Bernay, and the whole of his land in Cretinge and Crowfield (Croffeld) which he held of Randulf de Braham, and the whole of his land which he held of Gregory Gleau in Crowfield (Croffeld) and in Coddenham (Codeham), and the whole of his land in Coddenham (Codeham), Crowfield (Croffeld), and Bosmere-and-Claydon Hundred (Bosemere) of the fee of the monks of Eya, paying annually 6d.; for this grant the said canons gave 20 marks of silver. IPSWICH. Robert de Buteler of Hemingstone (Hemmingestune) grants to the house of St. Peter and St. Paul of Gypewic, in frankalmoigne, 6d., of annual rent from an area formerly belonging to Avicia "Tingtyicis" (the dyer) in the parish of Ipswich St Nicholas (St. Nicholas, Gypewic). Roger de Tuskynhed or Tuskynsack (see endorsement) grants to the church of the Holy Trinity, Ipswich, 7s. annual rent in Creting from the tenement held by Richard de Bosemere. (c. 1260-70.) (Partly effaced.)
Mutilated and effaced grant to the prior and canons of the Holy Trinity, Gipewic, of certain land in Creeting. (c. 1220-30.) (Witn. apparently the same as to the preceeding.)
An exchange made between the prior and convent of the Holy Trinity of Ipswich, and Adam, son of William de Bolonia of Creating , namely, that the said prior and convent gave to Adam four pieces of land in the parishes of Creating and Coddenham (Codeham) for two pieces in Creating. (c. 1240-50.)
STANHAM. Master Symon, son of Bartholomew de Stanham Lambert, grants to the church of the Holy Trinity of Ipswich (Gypeswic), in frankalmoigne, 6d. rent from land in Stanham, called Slohescropht. (c. 1240-50.)
Bartholomew, son of Roger the smith of Coddenham (Codeham), grants to the church of the Holy Trinity of Ipswich (Gipewic), in frankalmoigne, seven pieces of land in Coddenham (Codeham), paying annually to him and his heirs 26d.; for this grant the said canons gave him 5 marks of silver. Coddenham (?) Edmund de St. Clano of Coddenham (Codenham) grants to the prior and convent of the church of the Holy Trinity of Gyppewic', and their successors and assigns, that they may have a free way with horses and carts and of every kind of animal in the whole of his way which lies before his gate, which extends itself from the tenement of John Wistlepays towards the tenement formerly Ralph Sundai's, without any impediment. Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Thursday next after the feast of the Circumcision, 16 Ed. III (2 Jan. 1343).
Indenture made between the prior of the Holy Trinity, Gipp', and the convent, of the one part, and William Crane of Creeting St Mary (Creting St. Mary) of the other, witnesseth that the said prior and convent have granted to farm to the said William all their lands, tenements, &c. in the villages of Creeting St Mary (Creting St. Mary), Creeting All Saints (Creting All Saints), Creeting St Olave (Creting St. Olave), Earl Stonham (Stonham Earl), Stonham Aspal (Stonham Antegan), Coddenham (Codenham), and Crowfield (Creffeld), for 12 years, paying annually six marks of silver. Dated the Sunday next after the feast of St. Michael, 21 Rich. II (30 Sept. 1397).

Appropriation of the church of Theberton (Thebirtone) to the abbot and convent of Leystone, Suffolk, by Henry, bp. of Norwich and Nicholas, the prior, and chapter of Norwich; the old abbey having been destroyed by an inundation of the sea and the new having been burned excepting the charters. Dated 1 May, 1380.
CORTON. John, the abbot, and convent of Leystone indemnify Thomas, bp. of Norwich, and his successors, and the cathedral church of Norwich, by reason of the appropriation of the parochial church of Corton (Cortone) of the patronage at the abbey for first fruits, an annual pension etc. Dated at Leiston (Leystone), 10 July, 1367.
Inquisition of the value of the church of Corton (Gorton), co. Suffolk, at the command of Henry, bp, of Norwich, which church had been appropriated to the use of the abbot and convent of Leystone; reported to the Bishop by Robert de Suttone, canon of St. Pauls and rector of Eyke (Eyk). Dated 30 September, 1389.
An agreement for the securing to the cathedral church of Norwich an annual pension of 4s., from the church of Theberton (Thebirton), appropriated to the abbot and convent of Leystone. Dated at Leiston (Leystone) 15 April, 1381.
Clement, abbot and the convent of Leystone, &c., appoint Richard Robertson and William Styward as their atttorneys to deliver seisin to John Jenney, sen., and William Jenney his son, of certain messuages and tenements in Leiston (Leyston), Knodishall (Knodeshale), &c. Dated 20 April, 29 Hen. VI (1451).
William, the abbot, and the convent of Leystone grant to Thomas [or J....] ... and [ Richolda?] his wife, or 5 marks and 5 .... , four pieces of land which were Edmund the chaplain's lying in the vill of Knodishall (Knoteshale) (?). (c. 1320-30?) [Mutilated and partly effaced.]
William, prior of Mendham (Mendlesham), grants to Robert Dunken of Wetheringsett (Wedringset) one piece of land lying in Mendlesham. Dated at Mendlesham the Sunday next after the feast of St. Peter ad vincula, 27 Ed. III (4 Aug. 1353).
Mendlesham. Indenture made at Mendham abbey (sic), 9 September, 2 Henry VIII (1510), between Thomas Bullok, the prior of the house of our lady of Mendham and the convent, of the one part, and Robert Flouere, "syngilman" of the other part, by which the prior and convent demise a close called Denford to the said Robert.
