HADLEIGH. John, son of William Segge of Hadleigh (Hadlege) , and Agnes, daughter of William son of Wydne, grant to Robert le Ro of Edwardstone (Edwardeston), and Matilda, daughter of Thomas le Chalmere of Hadleigh (Hadlege) , for 20s. the half of a tenement in Hadleigh (Hadlege). (c. 1270-80.)

Sir Henry Wentworth, kt., and others appoint [blank] to receive of Edward Doyle, esq., in their name, seisin of and in the manors of Pond Hall (Pondhall) and Cosford Hall (Corsford) in Suffolk and other lands elsewhere in Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire (Northampton). Dated 8 Nov., 12 Hen. VII (1496).

Indenture by which Robert Rolfe of Grey's Inne, Middlesex, gent., son and heir of Roger Rolfe of Hadleigh (Hadley), deceased, approves and ratifies to Thomas Atkinson of Hadleigh (Hadley) all right and title to a capital mansion, &c. in Hadleigh (Hadley), which the said Thomas purchased of him and Edward Colman of Great Waldingfield. Dated 28 October, 24 Elizabeth (1582).
