⟨Worlingworth.⟩ John, son of Robert de Wilryngworth, quit-claims to William, the abbot of St. Edmund, all his right in two acres and a half of land in 'Stannardiscrofts;' also certain meadow and pasture land. Dated at Worlingworth (Wilryngworth) the Saturday before the feast of St. Mark the evangelist, 13 Ed. III (24 April 1339).

Memorandum of the receipt of 18s. 8d. from the rector of Worlingworth (Wyrlyngworth), by Robert, abbot of Bury St. Edmund, the receiver of the 10ths for the archdeaconries of Suffolk and Sudbury, in payment of the first moiety. Dated 14 November, 12 Ed. IV (1472).

Alvesbourn or Alnesbourn Priory. Robert, the prior, and canons of Alvesbrunne remit and quit-claim to William de Kirkeby, the prior, and convent of the Holy Trinity, Norwich, all action, right, and claim in 20s. annual rent, assigned to the former by Albert de Nevyle and his heirs out of the half of a certain water-mill in Keswick (Kesewyk), formerly called 'le Oldemylne,' but now destroyed and the arrears of which for 28 years they had claimed; for this remission and quit- claim the said prior and convent of Norwich gave 16 marks of silver. Dated at Norwich the Tuesday next after the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 14 Ed. I (25 Jue 1286).

Copy kept by the prior and convent of Norwich of the composition between the prior and convent of Buttele and master John de Thweyt, rector of the church of Winterton (Wynterton), concerning the tithes of West Somerton, with the consent of the patron of Winterton (Wynterton) Robert Clere. Dated 12 March 1342/3, at Norwich.

CORTON. John, the abbot, and convent of Leystone indemnify Thomas, bp. of Norwich, and his successors, and the cathedral church of Norwich, by reason of the appropriation of the parochial church of Corton (Cortone) of the patronage at the abbey for first fruits, an annual pension etc. Dated at Leiston (Leystone), 10 July, 1367.

Katherine Boydon of Great Yarmouth (Great Jernemuth) grants to Richard Smyth of Reedham (Redham) a tenement and certain pieces of land in the village and field of Gapton (Gapton alias Bradwell). Dated at Gapton, 21 Sept., 22 Ed. IV (1482).

Thomas and Henry Smyth grant to John Lavyle of Great Yarmouth (Great Jernemuth), Rose his wife, who was formerly wife of John Lampett, esq., now deceased, John Harvy, Thomas Cotoyle, John Hakon of Wheatacre (Whetacreburgh), William Adams of Gorleston-on-Sea (Gorlyston), William Shawe and John Barton of Great Yarmouth (Jernemuth), all those lands, pastures, and woods lying in Great Yarmouth (Little Yarmouth), Southtown (Southtowne), and Bradwell, which they lately had by the gift of the said John Lampett and Rose his then wife. VIII, between Thomas and Henry Smyth, querents, and John Lampett and Rose his wife, deforciants, concerning two tofts, 50 acres of land, 3 acres of meadow, 6 acres of marsh, 3 acres of wood in Burgh Castle (Burgh Castell), Lovingland (Lovengland), Great Yarmouth (Little Yermouth), Bradwell (Bradewell), &c. George Harcocke of Thorpe Next Haddiscoe (Haddysco Thorpe, Norfolk), yeoman, grants to James Hubberde, gent., in consideration of a certain sum of money, one messuage and two gardens situated in Great Yarmouth (Little Jernemuth), Gorleston-on-Sea (Gorleston), and Southtown (Southerton). John Aleys of Oulton (Olton) and John Oldryng of Carlton Colville (Carleton Colvile) grant to John Seynt, John of Olton, Robert his brother of Ringland (Ryngelond), and others, one acre of land in Oulton (Olton). Dated at Oulton (Olton), 12 February, 23 Hen. VI (1445). [Partially illegible.]

Sir John Hevenyngham, kt., and others (as in Ch. Suffolk 1105) demise and confirm to Henry Gray of Ketteringham (Keteryngham) and others the whole of the manor of Somerleyton (Somerleton), together with the foundation of the priory of St. Olive of Heryngflet, the advowson of the church of Somerleyton (Somerleton), and all the lands in Somerleyton (Somerleton), Blundeston, Lound, Ashby (Askeby), Herringfleet (Heryngflete), and Bradwell (Bradewell). Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton) the Thursday next after the Invention of the Cross, 23 Hen. VI.

Richard Page of Buxlow (Buckeslowe) grants in exchange with Henry, son of Robert Hamund, the whole of his tenement in Buxlow (Buckeslowe) and Sternfield (Sternefeld) for the whole of the latter's tenement in Bittering Magna or Bittering Parva (Betering) and 10 marks sterling. Dated at Buxlow (Buckeslowe) on the feast of Pentecost, 32 Ed. I.

BEESTON, co. Norfolk. Edmund Mortoft of Beston grants to John Coche of Costessey (Cossay), sir Robert Clere, kt., and others, to the use of the said John, one tenement called Corpesties and land in Beston. Dated at Beston, 8 October, 12 Hen. VII (1496). [See Norfolk, MS. Ch. Suffolk 12.]

CRUCHESTOKE, co. Norfolk. Isabella, daughter of Thomas de Rikinghale, grants to sir John de Valibus (Vaux), son of Oliver de Valibus (Vaux), 16d. of annual rent from a tenement in the fields of Stoke Holy Cross (Cruchestoke), paid to her by John Herbert, villein of the said sir John; rendering yearly one clove. (c. 1250-60.)

Thomas Bedyngfeld, William Pakke of Bedingfield (Bedyngfeld), William Revet of Rishangles (Ryshanglys) and Robert Chittyng, late of Southolt (Southall), demise to Robert Lyis of Aspall (Aspale), Jane Pecot, late the wife of Matthew Pecot, and others, lands, tenements, &c. in Debenham (Debynham) and Aspall (Aspale). Dated at Aspall (Aspale), 4 November, 20 Hen. VII (1504).

SUFFOLK. Grant from Henry Latimer to Gocelin de ... Pueronum and Richard his brother, for 20s., of the half of his marsh of To... Herk... below Kersh and the water running from Great Yarmouth (Gernemuth) to Beccles (Becks), paying annually four pence. (c. 1240-50)

⟨Mundham (?)⟩. Grant from Henry Westyate of Mundham (Old Mundham) and Henry and Thomas Turnour, of the same, to John, Robert and Roger Westyal of one acre of land. Dated at Mundham, 22 Jan. 9(?) Hen. VIII.

MENDHAM. Indenture between Edmund Jetterre of Lowestoft, gent., and John Flower of Mendham, yeoman, by which the former, for the sum of six (?) score pounds, sells to the latter lands in Mendham and other places. Dated last day of Febr., 3 Eliz.

Indenture made 7 December, 3 Charles II (1662), that Thomas Freston of Mendham, in consideration of the receipt of £7. 3s. 3d., and an after-payment of £500, releases and confirms to Richard Freston of Mendham, esq., the tithes of the parishes of Mendham, Metfield, and Needham (Nedham) appertayning to the late dissolved monastery of Mendham.
