SPELDHURST. Sir Simon de Berhersse, knight, son of Richard de Serhersse grants to the prior and canons of Thonbrige in frankalmoigne the whole of his land in the parish of Speldhurst. (c. 1280.)

SPELDHURST and HARWARTON. Indenture made Christmas Day, 10 Hen. VIII, by which Richard Roston., LL.D., master, and the brethren of Corpus Christi College, nigh the parish of St. Lawrence Poultney, London, demise unto William Waller of Growmbrigge (i.e. Groombridge) co. Kent their manors of Spelhurst and Harwarton for 20 years, at an annual rent of 56s. 8d.

Indenture witnessing that Richard Roston, master of the College of St. Laurence, Poulteney, London, and the chaplain of the same, demise to John Waller, sen., of Speldehurst, in Kent , their manors of Speldehurst and Herwapton for 7 years, paying annually for the same 56s. 8d. Dated at London, 10 Feb., 11 Hen. VII.

Speldhurst [Kent]. Richard Farnhame of Speldhurst grants to Richard atte Twyzthe and Cristina his wife, heir of the said Richard, a piece of land called Westland at Farnhamme in the parish of Speldhurst (boundaries).
