ALRYNGTON, co. Gloucester. John Sonde acknowledges to have received 50s. of the abbot and convent of Oseney from their manor of Alryngton for the dower of Joan his wife. Dated 12 April, 16 (?) Richard II.

STOW and BIBURY, co. Glouo. A fragment of an episcopal confirmation to the abbey of Oseney of the churches of Stow and Bibury, formerly belonging to the church of St. George. Dated Sept. 14. Temp. Hen. IV or V.

An acknowledgment from the abbot and convent of Cirencester that they have received from the abbot of Oseney 26s. 8d. for the church of Bybury and other sums for 3 other churches etc., for the subsidy granted to the King for the defence of the kingdom by the clergy of Canterbury. Dated at Cyrencester, 4 Kl. Feb., 1337.

An acquittance given by Henry de Neubold, clerk, sequestrator of Wolstan, bp. of Worcester , to Thomas de Mannesfeld, keeper of Bibury , for the payment of 12s. for the jurisdiction of Bibury, due to the bishop from the abbey of Oseney. Dated 6 Kl. December, 1348.

Richard de Ledebury, archdeacon of Gloucester , acknowledges that the abbot and convent of Oseney are exempt from archidiaconal jurisdiction for the chapel of Baindesleye within the territory of the church of Bibury, and that they have the right of inducting the rector of Baindesleye. Dated at Ledebury, 5 Kl. Jan., 1353.

An acknowledgment that William Wenlok, prior of the cathedral of St. Mary, Worcester , has received of the abbot and convent of Oseney 30s., annual pension from the church of Bybrye. Dated 4 Nov., 1495.

Inquisition taken at Tetbury, co. Gloucester, before the King's Escheator to ascertain the value of the possessions of the abbot and convent of Oseney at Bibury, in the church etc. valued at £30 clear. Dated Aug., 1482, 22 Ed. IV.

ALDSWORTH, Gloucestershire. Robert, son of Alured de Leche , with the assent of Matilda his wife, grants for himself and heirs, in frankalmoigne, to the church and canons of Oseney, in consideration of the receipt of 10s. one and a half virgate of land with a messuage in the village of Walle, viz. that land which he sometime held of the same canons; paying annually to him and his heirs half a mark. at [Beyber']. (c. 1220.) [Mutilated.] .
