ESSEDENN (East) [Ashen, Essex]. William Seuerleg (?) grants to the church of St. Mary Magdalen, Tunbruge, and the canons there, three acres of land in Eastessedenne paying yearly 16d.; for this grant the said prior and canons gave 9s. sterling. (c. 1210-20.)
Giles de Hesedenne grants to the church of St. Mary Magdalen of Tonebrige 5d. rent, and one hen, and a horse-shoe ('ferrum equinum'), which was annually paid to him by William de Boghinghurst and his heirs from certain land which he held of him in Hesedenne; for which donation the paid prior and convent gave him 3s. sterling. (c. 1260-80.)
