Letters patent of Robert Johnson, bachelor of laws, official of the bishop of Worcester , stating that at the request of Richard Marshall, S.T.P., dean of Oxford , he caused the Worcester episcopal archives to be searched on 14 Jan. 1555, by Wm. Warmsey, notary public, who found: 4 ⟨July or August⟩ 1555.
- (i) Ordination of Silvester, bp. of Worcester , for the churches of Wotton and Preston-upon-Stour, appropriated to the abbey of Tewkesbury, assessing the church at £34, and providing for pensions from Wotton of 13/- to the bishop, 6/8 to the Dean and chapter, ¼ to the archdeacon, and from Preston 7/-, ¾, and ¼ respectively. Dated 15 April, 1555.
- (ii) License of Henry VII to Sir John Mordaunt, kt., William Grevill, sergeant-at-law, and Walter Rowdon , to grant the advowson of Wotton to Tewksbury. Dated 12 May (rectius 12 March), 1497.
- (iii) Letters patent of Maurice lord Berkeley, proclaiming the recovery of right against him in the advowson. Dated 7 July, 1504.
- (iv) Confirmation by the prior &c. of S. Mary’s, Worcester, 3 May, 1555.
- (v) Confirmation by Thomas Rowthell, archdeacon of Gloucester , 10 June, 1555
