Collection Info
As with other series shelfmarked MS. Ch. and MS. Rolls, this is an artificial collection created from a range of archival sources, and the provenance of individual items is not always known.
The collection catalogued in 1878 comprised MSS. Ch. Lincs. 1-20 and MS. Rolls Lincs. 1, of unrecorded provenance. Some items (Ch. 6, 11, 12) can be identified in the collection of Ralph Thoresby, for which see the collection overview for Yorkshire.
The major later accessions include:
- MSS. Ch. Lincs. 26-137: Healey family deeds related to Ashby and Burringham, 15th-17th century (see also MSS. Ch. London and Middlesex 218-223, Norfolk 761, Sussex 326, Yorks. 350-3, and Summary Catalogue appendix II )
