Thomas Wolsey, archbishop of York, remits and quit-claims to the duke of Norfolk, Thomas Wentworth, Philip Tylney, John Cornewales, Edmund Wyndham, and Edmund Knevet, all right, &c. to lands, advowsons, &c. belonging to the priory of Felixstowe, co. Suffolk. Dated 20 October, 21 Hen. VIII (1529). Granted to them by Will. Capon, the master of the College of St. Mary at Gipewic of which he was the founder.

PATHLOBRIGGE. Martin Birkhed of Cotyngley, yeoman and John West of Beiston, yeoman, for a sum of £54 4s. 4d., sell to John Bekwith of Skewyk in Foyston the whole of a messuage and 2 closes of land in Pathlobrigge, co. York, part of the possessions of the monastery of Fountains. Dated 5 April, 4 Q. Eliz. .

FOUNTAIN'S (ABBEY). Martin Birkhed of Cotyngham and John West of Beiston , for a sum of £54 4s. 4d., sell to John Bekwith a messuage and two closes of land in Pathlobrigge, co. York, part of the monastery of Fountains. Dated 5 April, 4 Q. Eliz. .

Indenture made 13 Feb., 30 Hen. VIII, between Robert, the prior, and the convent of St. Oswald of the Nostell of the one part, and Roger Malet, gentleman, of the other part, witnesseth that the said prior and convent have let to the said Roger all their tithes of corn and hay within the town of Wrangbrokeve for 31 years, paying annually for the same £6 10s.

WYLBERFOSSE (Priory of). Indenture dated 2 May, 25 Hen. VIII, by which Elizabeth Lord, prioress, and the convent of Our Lady of Wylberfosse demise to Jorge Adayll,husbandman, their ferm in Semer, with 3 cottages, 4 oxgayngs ofarable land, &c., for 31 years, at a yearly rent of 41s.

BOLTON. Indenture dated 8 May, 22 Hen. VIII, by which William Golthropp of Schepley, gent. and Thomas Golthropp his cousin and heir and Alys his wife demise to Roger Hanson of Derfelde, yeoman a close with two leys, 9 acres of arable land and one acre of meadow in Bolton, for 14 years, paying annually 14s.

Richard Newbye of Lamrigge, co. Westmoreland, in consideration of a sum of £33 6s. 8d., grants to Robert Hoythe the whole of his close called Oxclose containing five acres lying in Littlewodhowse near Leeds. Dated 15 Dec., 14 Q. Elizabeth. 1571.

Mutilated indenture, dated 5 July, 16 Hen. VIII, between sir Robert Ughtred, kt., of the one part, and Symon Webb of London , and William Challoner , of the other, witnesseth that the said sir Robert has sold to the said Symon and William his manors of Lepington and Barthorpe. Bond given by William Graver of Spoford, yeoman and Richard Mawde of Menston and Richard Smyth of Burley, husbandman, to Percival Brerey in a sum of £40 to abide by the award of Geoffrey Pikard and others concerning the lands &c. late Walter Graver 's of Menston. Dated 24 Feb., 3 Hen. VIII.

Percyval Brerehaghe grants to Richard Clapeham, gent., William Brerehagh , Christopher Pykard , and William Roods one tenement with all the lands, fields, &c. belonging to the same in Menston, now in the tenure of William Hadylstone , appointing Richard Haukesworth and George Roods , attorneys to give seisin. Dated 7 March, 14 Hen. VIII .

Richard Clapeham, gent., William Brerehagh , Christ. Pykard , and William Roods grant to Percival Brerehagh and Joan his wife one tenement with land and meadow in Menston [as in MS. Ch. Yorks. 247] Dated 7 March, 14 Hen. VIII.

NORMANBY. Institution of sir Edmund Baynes to the church of Normanby, vacant by the death of Thomas Capleman , on the presentation of William Romsden of Lousby and Richard Vavasoure of Copmanthorp . Dated 27 Sept., 38 Hen. VIII, 1546.

FARMANDBY, ESTHALGARTH, THORNETON, ELLERBURNE, PYKERING, and THURKYLBY. Indenture made 15 December, 20 Henry VII, between sir Edward Hastyngs, kt., lord des Hastings and Hungerford, son and heir of sir William Hastyngs, kt., late lord de Hastyngs , deceased, sir Thomas Frowyk, kt., chief justice, and Thomas Jakes , of the one part, and Geoffrey Symeon, dean of St. George's, Windsor , and the canons of the same, of the other part, reciting the foundation of a chantry by the said William lord Hastyngs for the souls of himself and Katherine his wife and others in the chapel of St. George's, Windsor, and endowing the same with lands of the annual value of £20. but because the specified land do not amount to £20 per annum in Hil. term 17 Henry VII, but only to £18 6., the said Edward now gives an annual rent charge of 35s. from his manor of Alberston Yorkshire, for the said purposes; and Frowyk and Jakes appoint John Hastyngs, gent., and Ralph Crawcetone their attorneys to give him seisin. Inquisition taken on the death of Robert Tailler son and heir of John Tailler at Rothwell, dated 7 April 3 Elizabeth. Held lands at Lofthouse in Rothwele, for which he paid 10s. yearly to two almshouses at Leeds. His heirs are his three sisters, Sibella, Elizabeth and Margaret).
