Richard Newbye of Lamrigge, co. Westmoreland, in consideration of a sum of £33 6s. 8d., grants to Robert Hoythe the whole of his close called Oxclose containing five acres lying in Littlewodhowse near Leeds. Dated 15 Dec., 14 Q. Elizabeth. 1571.

Bond given by William Graver of Spoford, yeoman and Richard Mawde of Menston and Richard Smyth of Burley, husbandman, to Percival Brerey in a sum of £40 to abide by the award of Geoffrey Pikard and others concerning the lands &c. late Walter Graver 's of Menston. Dated 24 Feb., 3 Hen. VIII.

Inquisition taken on the death of Robert Tailler son and heir of John Tailler at Rothwell, dated 7 April 3 Elizabeth. Held lands at Lofthouse in Rothwele, for which he paid 10s. yearly to two almshouses at Leeds. His heirs are his three sisters, Sibella, Elizabeth and Margaret).

BRAMLEY and HEDINGLEY. Letters patent of Queen Elizabeth , dated at Westminster, 1 April, 34 of her reign, granting to John Savile and Thomas Hynchclyffe for 13s. 4d. a licence of alienation of 23 acres of certain lands in Bramley and Hedingley to Robert Walshe and Robert Crowther . [Mutilated.]

Award by Dr Hugh Weston, Dr William Cliff, and Mr William Grinestede, in arbitration between the dean and chapter of Christ Church, Oxford, and John Thorneton, vicar of Leeds, concerning £10 annual pension from the church of Leeds, parcel of the possessions of the dissolved priory of Holy Trinity, York, granted by Henry VIII to Christ Church on 11 Dec. 1546. John to pay the pension from henceforth with arrears of £16. Dated 24 Nov. 1 Mary [1553].
