BRADELEY. Charter witnessing that whereas William atte Lake has infeoffed John de la Grene of Northleye with 2 plots of ground in Bradeley within the fee of Alnytheleye ⟨recte Aluytheleye⟩, as in a charter to the said John more fully is contained; nevertheless the said John grants for himself and his heirs that if the said William be disturbed in possession of a moiety of a mill called 'Trokenhulle Mulne' then the said charter of feoffment shall be null and void. Dated at Alnytheleye the Sunday next after the Nativity B. V. M., 25 Ed. III.

BULMER and HENY. Roger, son and heir of Edmund Boteler , grants to Thomas Boteler his uncle one toft, 120 acres of land, 3 acres of meadow, 20 of pasture, 20 of wood, and 30s. annual rent in Bulmer, Great Heny, and Bridge Heny, for the term of his life and to his executors ten years after his decease, paying annually one rose at the feast of St. John the Baptist. Dated at Bulmer the Monday after the feast of St. Mark, 33 Ed. III.

PENTLOW. Bond given by John Buntyng of Pentlowe to Helmyng Legett , in £20 payable three years after date. Dated at Pentlowe the Monday after the feast of St. John the Baptist, 33 Ed. III.

ERESBY, TOYNTON, FELETBY, RATHEBY, BELTESFORD, WYSSYNGTON, and ORREBY, co. LINCOLN; and EGGESFELD, SHATEGRAVE, WHETACRE, GRAUNTHAUBOYS, and WALCOTES, co. NORFOLK. John, son of sir John de Wylughby, kt. , quit-claims to dame Joan de Wylughby, lady d'Eresby his mother, all right of action for waste in those lands she holds in dower in the counties of Lincoln and Norfolk for the term of her life. GEDGRAVE and EDGEFIELD. Indenture made between sir Thomas Rocelyn, kt., and Alexander de Walcote and others, concerning the manors of Chategrave and Eggefeld. Dated at Eggefeld the Tuesday next after the feast of SS. Philip and James, . . Ed. I.

HOLT and CLEY. William de Ros of Hamelak appoints sir Aleyn de Weybredd and sir James de Houton to arrange matters between sir Thomas de Verdoun and himself touching the manors of Holt and Cleye. Dated at Penteneye the Wednesday next before the feast of St. Katherine, 8 Ed. II.

SHOTESHAM. Indenture between the abbot and convent of Hulme of one part and sir John Whyte, kt., of the other part, concerning certain rights of fishing. Dated at Norwich the Wednesday before the feast of St. John the Baptist, 15 Rich. II.

CLIFTON, BURCOT, HOLCOMB, and DRAYTON. Indenture made between Robert, the abbot, and convent of Dorchester of the one part, and John Loveday and John Moyne of the other, witnesseth that in settlement of divers disputes between the said parties, the abbot and convent release and quit-claim all their right in all the lands and tenements which they hold in the villages of Clyfton, Brudycote, Holcoumbe, and Drayton, and in the same manner the said John and John quit-claim all their right in the lands and tenements, rents and services, held by the said abbot and convent in the same villages. Dated at Dorkchestre the Tuesday next before the feast of St. Hilary, 31 Ed. III.

Copy of the agreement between the chancellor and the university of Oxford, and the mayor and citizens, that they shall joyntly have the supervision of weights and measures, and not, as heretofore, exercise separate jurisdictions. (c. 1348.) .

An acknowledgment given by William de la Marche that he has received of the abbot and convent of Oseney 61s. sterling, for 20 ... sheep which he had ... by the gift of monsigneur le Mortimer , from the sheep of mons. J[ohan?] de Handlo . Dated at London, 4 March, 1 Ed. III.

Mandate from Edward, Prince of Wales, to the seneschal of the honour of Wallingford, to release entirely any distraint on the lands of the monastery of Oseney. Dated 5 Ed. III. [Mutilated.] .

An acknowledgment from Isabella Blaket for the payment of four marks as a corrody from the abbot and convent of Oseney granted to her by the king for her life. Dated at Hanlee in the county of Worcester the Sunday after the feast of St. Mark the evangelist, 44 Ed. III.

An acquittance given by John de Bures, citizen and draper of London , to the abbot and convent of Oseney, for the receipt of £17 17s. 2d., by the hands of John Fretewethe, mercer, of Oxford. Dated at London, 10 Oct., 45 Ed. III.

Letter of sir John Lovell, kt., to the seneschal, bailiffs, and guardians of his fee, certifying that he has received homage of J., abbot of Oseney , for the tenements he holds in the village of Sibford Gower, co. Oxford, and therefore he is not to be disturbed or distress to be taken. Dated at Oxford the Monday next after the feast of St. Matthew, evang., 48 Ed. III.

Convention between Richard, abbot of Bury St. Edmund, and Sir Ralph Bockyng, about the sub-stewardship of the abbey. [Sir John de Stasyngges being steward] [Temp. Ed. I.] (c. 1312?) (See Roberts' Calendarium Genealogicum, II. 633. 20 Edw. I. Abbot Richard was elected in 1312.) [Mutilated and much effaced.]

Indenture made at Acton (Aketon) the Tuesday in the feast of St. Michael, archangel, 29 Ed. III (29 Sept. 1355), by which sir Andrew de Bures and Alice his wife let to farm to John de Sydhay of Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfeld) five acres of land and of a pasture called le Hethfeld in Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfeld).

Margaret Botiller is bound to sir Thomas Mortimer, William Forde, clerk, and Robert Hethe, in a sum of £40. Dated ..., 12 Rich. II. [Partly obliterated.]

⟨Coddenham (?).⟩ Indenture for the greater part effaced, to which ... fitz-Stephen and William, William, and John Seynelow are partners. Dated at Coddenham (Codenham), Friday after feast of St. Stephen pope 47 Edw. III (5 Aug. 1373).

Indenture between sir John Hoioun, knt. and Peter [Gernegan] respecting various houses and buildings etc. Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton), Wednesday after feast of St. Andrew, 12 Edw. III. [The greater part effaced.]

Little Stonham (STONHAM GERNEGAN). Indenture made between sir Thomas Vysdelu, kt., and John Gernegan, being a marriage settlement upon the espousal of Margaret, daughter of the said Thomas, and John, son of the said John Gernegan, for payment of £100 and enfeoffment in the manor of Vise de Lou (Shalfhanger) Dated at Kirton (Kyrkton) the Wednesday after the feast of St. Barnabas the apostle, 49 Ed. III.

SADDLESCOMBE. Condition of a bond in £200 from sir Thomas de Nerford to master Paunce de Controno , that the said Thomas shall give up with 15 days of Pentecost the beasts, goods and chattels of the manor of Sadelescombe which he held of the prior of the hospital [of St John of Jerusalem], and which the said Paunce had sold to the prior, in accordance with an inventory made between the Prior and Paunce's brother Peregrine . Dated at Westminster the Friday next after the feast of the Annunciation B.V. M., 1 Ed. III.

ENESBY. Roger de Fulthorp lets to Raulyn de Yvere all his lands and tenements in the village of Euesby in Clyveland, for 3 years at an annual rent of 7s. Dated at Tonstale on St. Michael's day, 46 Ed. III.

Charter dated 5 April, 1375, reciting that sir William de Atoun the father, in the presence of the sire de Percy , challenged sir Robert de Boneton on account of the arms he bore, namely, Or, on a cross sable five bullocks' heads argent, which matter after long controversy, was submitted to the judgement of the sire de Percy, who after deliberation adjudged the arms to belong to William de Aton , who thereupon grants the same to Robert de Boneton and his heirs for ever. [Defaced.]

Henry of Lancaster, earl of Derby, confirms to D⟨aventry⟩ all the lands, &c., which Thomas fitz-Walter of D⟨aventry⟩ gave them. Given at Kenilworth. 11 Oct. ⟨1338.⟩

Et aussi par cause qe les Priour et Covent susditz ont fait chacier et rechacier leur charetter et autres cariages deinz et parmye le cimiteire de la dite eglise claymantz de lavoir chemyn a leur ease, quele chose soeffrer, semblar as ditz parochiens estre a eux dishoneste et grevante acause qe leur ancestres et amys la feurent ensevelez. Les parties avandites par le ben et quiete de lune partie et de lautre, et pur eschuyer tiel (?) debatz et discensions en temps avenir, sont accordez en la presence del trespuissant prince Johan Duc de Guyene et de Lancastre en manie qe sensuyt. Cestassavoir qe les ditz parochiens ferront soner devant la messe deinz la dite eglise les iours en la matin en covenable pele et soner ave une sonette, a la levacioun del sacrament de meisme la messe trois knyllynges tantsoulement devant la levee des Priour et Covent avantditz. Et aussi qe les ditz Priour et Covent par eux et par leur tenantz auront une chemyn a leur ease en manie come ils ont euz dancien temps pur chacier et rechacier eux cariages selonc ce qe leur busoignera deinz la dite cimiteire sanz destourber divine service acelebrer deinz leglise parochiele avandite et sur meisme la cimiteire serra une porte fermer de serrure ove deux cliefs des quex lun serra en la garde des ditz Priour et Covent et lautre en la garde des parochiens avantditz.
