Convention between Hugh Gernegan of one part and Ralph 'le petit' of the other, by which the said Ralph grants to Hugh the half of the acquisitions which he is able to acquire upon the land of Walter de Watham by writ of right, the said Hugh paying all the cost, and Ralph making no agreement without his consent, under mutual penalty of ten marks, and submitting themselves to the jurisdiction of the bishop of Norwich. ALVESBOURN or ALNESBOURN. John Salemann of Alnesbourn (Alnesbrunne) and Matilda his wife grant to William de Estoke, for his homage and service and 4s. of silver, one piece of his land in Alnesbourn (Alnesbrunn), paying annually to him and his heirs one penny at the feast of St. Michael. BACTON. Charter by which .... son of ... de Bacton (Baketun) grants and quit-claims to sir Simon Peche and his heirs, all right in a messuage and one acre of land in Bacton (Baketun); for this quit-claim the said sir Simon gave 20s. of silver. (c. 1260-70.)

Hugh atteHallegate of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund) grants to Walter del Brasynof Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund), for his fealty and service and 14s. of silver, one half acre of arable land in the fields of Barton Mills (Bertone); paying annually for the same one penny. (c. 1240-50.)

Sir William de Gimi⟨n⟩gham, kt., grants to Walter, son of John de Geytune, his nephew, one messuage with a croft in the village of Great Barton or Barton Mills (Bertone); paying annually for the same 3d. (c. 1260-70.)

BARTON. Semann, son of Reginald de Berton, grants to Roger his son, for his homage and service, that toft in the village of Great Barton or Barton Mills (Berton) of his fee which lies between the parson's croft on the one part, and his own croft on the other, with the adjacent land, computed at 7 roods, which Peter, son of Osbert de Wridewell, clerk, held of same by the gift of Walter the chaplain, his uncle, and which the said Peter quitclaimed to him; also he grants to the said Roger 2 acres of his land in the fields of Great Barton or Barton Mills (Berton); paying annually to the church of Great Barton or Barton Mills (Berton) 6d., and to him and his heirs 2d. BARTON (Little). Ralph, son of Andrew Canewaz of Barton Mills (Bertone), chaplain, grants to Peter, son of Geoffrey Canewaz, for his homage and service and 10 marks in hand paid, the whole of his messuage and lands lying in Barton Mills (Bertone), and his fishery paying annually 15d. (c. 1260-70.)

BAWDSEY (?). Ranulf le Gardener of Bawdsey (Baudris)' grants to Cecilia, his daughter and heir, one piece of his arable land in the village of Bawdsey (Baudris)'. Dated at Bawdsey (Baudris)' the Wednesday next after the feast of St. Margaret, virgin, 21 Ed. I.

BOYTON. Thomas, son of Osbert de Hopetune, grants to Roger, son of Osbert, and his heirs, all right in the whole of a tenement which Osbert his father possessed of the fee of the ancestors of the said Roger, in Boyton (Boytune). (c. 1220-30.)

William Bule of Brandeston (Branttestune) grants to William Daco of Cretingham (Gretingham), for 7s 6d. all his right in two pieces of land in the village of Brandeston (Brantestune) which Richard his father formerly held, from Roger Daco, father of the said William. (c. 1220-30.)

⟨Brockford (?)⟩. BROCKFORD. William Keyman of Brockford (Brocford) grants to Roger de Bertone, clerk, for 2s. 3d. the whole of the service that Thomas Gernun owed to him and his heirs, namely, three-pence from the fee of Peter de Hollegate, paying annually one halfpenny. (c. 1230-40.)

CARLETON, KELSALE, MONKS-SAHAM, and CRANSFORD. Convention made between the lord Roger, earl Bigot, marshal of England, of the one part, and Roger de Karletone of the other, viz. that the said Roger de Karletone has sold to the lord Roger the whole of his manor and advowson of Carlton (Karleton), with appurtenances in Karleton and Kelsale (Keleshal), and in Monk Soham (Saham Monks) and in the village of Cransford (Cranesford), for 250 marks sterling, to be paid on the vigil and written the octave of Pentecost, 34 Hen. III, in the castle of the said earl Roger at Framlingham (Framingham); and the said earl shall maintain the said grantor's daughter Camille honourably in some manner, until she is 13 years old, and then procure her admission as a nun, but if she refuse to take a religious habit shall then provide her with ten pounds' worth of land.

Richard Benet of Thurton (Teurtone) grants to William de Winst⟨on⟩, chaplain, for his homage and service and 2s. of silver, 2d. of annual rent from William, son of Serlo of Plumstead (Plumstede), for one acre of land in the field of Gedgrave (Cattegrave), paying annually one apple for all service. (c. 1240.)

John Vaghe grants to Robert Theward one piece of land in Scaldeford meadow in Coddenham (Codeham). (c. 1250-60.)

COMBS, &c. Richard de Boylynd and Matilda his wife grant to Roger fitz-Peter fitz-Roger fitz-Osbert and Sarah his wife 28s. 4½d. of annual rents arising from lands &c. in Combs ('Cambes') and elsewhere, for the sum of £20. (c. 1280-90.) [Mutilated.]

CRUCHESTOKE, co. Norfolk. Isabella, daughter of Thomas de Rikinghale, grants to sir John de Valibus (Vaux), son of Oliver de Valibus (Vaux), 16d. of annual rent from a tenement in the fields of Stoke Holy Cross (Cruchestoke), paid to her by John Herbert, villein of the said sir John; rendering yearly one clove. (c. 1250-60.)

⟨Elveden (?)⟩. Walter, son of Warine son of ... of Elveden (Elvedune) grants to [Peter?] son of Thomas of Elveden (Elvedene), certain lands for [40s.?] and 3d. paying 4d. annually. [Partly effaced.] (c. 1250-60)

William de Lerlingge, rector of the church of Larling (Lerlinge), grants to Richard de Lerlinge and William and Robert his sons ("meis"), his messuage in Elveden (Elvedene). [Temp. Ed. I.] (c. 1280-90?) .

GROTON. Nicholas Cokerel of Groton (Groten) grants to Henry Melksop of Milden (Melding) for 15s. one piece of arable land in the village of Groton (Groten). (c. 1270-80.)

CRETINGHAM. Richard Flur(?) grants to sir Roger le Denays of Cretingham (Gretingham), the lady Matilda his wife, William le Denays their son and his wife and Roger his son, and others, for 6 marks of silver sterling, certain land in the village of Creeting St Peter (Stepel Creeting)(?). HADLEIGH. John, son of William Segge of Hadleigh (Hadlege) , and Agnes, daughter of William son of Wydne, grant to Robert le Ro of Edwardstone (Edwardeston), and Matilda, daughter of Thomas le Chalmere of Hadleigh (Hadlege) , for 20s. the half of a tenement in Hadleigh (Hadlege). (c. 1270-80.)

HOLBROOK. William Sprot of Holbrook (Holebac) grants to Robert le Sponere of Holbrook (Holebac) for 20s. one piece of land and one piece of herbage in Creeting St Peter (Stepelcreting). (c. 1250-60.) [A small part effaced.]

⟨Bramfield (?)⟩ Cristiana, formerly wife of Hubert Mory of Bramfield (Branfeld) , grants to Costentine Skeith of Ipswich, for half a mark all her right in a piece of meadow, which she has in the name of dowry of Hubert her husband. (c. 1280-90.)

SUFFOLK. Grant from Henry Latimer to Gocelin de ... Pueronum and Richard his brother, for 20s., of the half of his marsh of To... Herk... below Kersh and the water running from Great Yarmouth (Gernemuth) to Beccles (Becks), paying annually four pence. (c. 1240-50)

MANTHORP. Grant from Roger, son of Roger Burkard of Manthorp (Manethorp) to John son of ... Manthorp (Manethorpe), for nine shillings, of one rood and a half of his land in Manthorp (Manethorpe), paying (c. 1250-60)
