Bargain and sale. Basingstoke (Hampshire). 16 Chas. I. Jan. 20, 1641. Indenture made between (1) Barnard Payce of Bramley, Hampshire, yeoman, (2) Nicholas Gardner of Sherborne St John, Hampshire, yeoman and George Herne of Basingstoke, Hampshire, Tanner, and (3) Richard Gates, of Basingstoke, shoemaker, being a bargain and sale by (1) to (2), 45s annual rent from land in Basingstoke called the Stewes and a messuage called Vinables alias Viables with lands and tenements belonging to it (signed by Gates, Gardner and Herne).
