Assignment. Fountains Abbey (Cistercian). Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 6 Rich. II (1382). . Indenture tripartite witnessing that Richard de Ravenser, archdeacon of Lincoln, John de Ravenser, parson of the church of Algarkirk, and John de Waltham, canon of Hereford, assign to the abbot and convent of Fonteyns the manor of Queldryk [Wheldrake] which was formerly William Darell's, with 8 messuages, 19 tofts, 180 acres of land, 14 acres of meadow, 14 acres of wood, 100 acres of more, 6s. 1d. and one pair of gloves annual rent in Queldryk, upon condition that the said abbot and convent pay to the master and brethren of the hospital of St. Leonard, York, 16 marks annually for the support of certain charges imposed upon them by the donors. Dated at York.
