Grant. Kirkstead, Cistercian abbey. 1163, in the month of July, on St. James' day (1163). . Grant from Robert de Marmium to the church and monks of St. Mary of Kyrkestede, the whole half of the land which Adelsi, son of Bern, and Asketin, son of Od, his nephew, held of his predecessors, or of the said Robert in Ruchtuna, viz. 6 bovates of land, with all the benefits of their works, and buildings, mills, etc., and all other easements; with the wood of Torntun and paying annually to him and his heirs 30s. He grants all this with the free will of Adelsi's nephew, Robert Calf, and his brother Asketin, and and their mother Ingerida. Dated at Luda.
