1594. ‘A note of the white game belonginge unto the Collegge of Christ Church in the Universitie of Oxford, which have been found this yeare 1594 at the Swan Uppinge time, And what broodes there are of the same and where they doe lye.’ There were 17 old swans: 4 at the high Bridge at Stanton; one each at Stanton Moor, Bynssy church, Broadford, Sandford, Abingdon, Sutton, Sparsy Bridge, Ycfley Mill, Ottmoor, Ruely Lock, Wytam Streeme, Hincksy Mill, and another at Abingdon: also 9 cygnetts.
