Clapcote. William Badecok of W⟨allingford⟩ grants to Walter Crypse a toft with arable land adjacent, lying between the said Walter’s land on the north, and the garden which belonged to Sir William de Bereford by Wallingford castle on the south, in the village of C⟨lapcote⟩ , reaching from the high road on the west to the barbican of the castle on the east. It is 28 feet wide by the road, and 68 feet by the barbican; length 55 and 58 feet. Witnesses: Richard de Louches : Gilbert du char , Thomas Aleyn , Simon Kenelm , Nicholas le coupere . Given at C⟨lapcote⟩ . ⟨6 Feb. 1331.⟩
