Fawsley. Indenture by which Hugh de Capes , by the mediation of Hugh bishop of Coventry and Lichfield and Sir Roger de Weleton , grants to Nicholas, prior of D⟨aventry⟩ , his right in a pasture called Golecroft, and that the said pasture shall remain enclosed as Hugh Russel closed it: he further grants a capital messuage in Falville which Hugh Russel once held which shall also remain enclosed as Hugh Russel enclosed it. The houses of their tenants in Falville shall stand in peace as H⟨ugh⟩ R⟨ussel⟩ let them stand. Also the lane called Schiteburlane by St. Bridgett’s well, which Hugh Russel blocked up for the common utility of the manor of Falville, shall so remain: and the road which he opened for the advantage of the whole manor, by Golecroft, and which is called the road to the New Bridge, shall always remain a common road. In return the prior and convent have given him two acres of their demesne in Falville, and ½ mark rent for which he may distrain.
