Broughton. Gregory Grimbaut grants to D⟨aventry⟩ in free alms 42d. rent from the land which William de fonte once held from him in Brouton, as appears in another charter concerning the same gift. Every year the monks are to distribute 13d. of this to the poor (die absolucionis), and 2/5 is to provide a lamp before the altar of S. Mary, burning throughout the night, and at all masses during the day. Witnesses: Sir Walter fitz-Simon, lord of D⟨aventry⟩ , Sir Simon de Trop , William fitz-Robert de S.
