Needham-Street (Gazeley). 1323. Grant from Walter Persoun of Needham Street (Nedham) in the parish of Gazeley (Gayslee), and Beatrice, his wife, to Walter Priour of the same, Petronilla his wife, and John their son, for a certain sum of money, of the homage and fealty of Walter Clynckebelle of the same, with his service of 9 d. a year, which he was wont to pay for tenements holden in the parish of Gayslee; viz. for a messuage in Nedham next to the messuage of Maud Clynckebelle; and for 1.5 acres of arable land, in two parcels, in a place called Clynckebellescroftes, both next tot he land of the said Maud. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham), on [19 June] Sunday before the feast of the Nativity of St John Baptist, 16 Edw. II [1323] Witnesses: Walter le Mercer, Robert de Hapetone, William Sperlyng, Robert (Smith) "Fabro", John Derson, Richard le Warner, John Aumener of Needham Street (Nedham), and others. The two seals are wanting.
