OXFORD (St. Ebbe). Mandate from the official of the bishop of Lincoln, dated Id. Aug. 11th year of the bp. [Groseteste], ( Rob. de Mariscis ) to Rob de Preston , and Robert, rector of the church of St. John, to hear an appeal from a judgment of the chancellor's court, between the abbot and convent of Oseney and Roger de Lega, a scholar of Oxford , with a mandate addressed by them to the dean of Dorthelestre(?) to cite Roger de Lega to appear before them in the church of St. John. (c. 1245.) Witn. Rob. de Mariscis, dean of Lincoln and archdeacon of Oxford . (d. in or about 1262).
