Walter de Morton grants to Matthew de Stratton, archdeacon of Bucks , for his homage and service, one virgate of land in Morton, also the homage and service of William de Bayus , viz. 2s. rent and all escheats that will fall to him and his heirs; to hold the same for ever at an annual rent of one pound of pepper, or 6d. For this donation the said Matthew gave him 20 marks of silver, (c. 1220-30.) .
