Edward Madison, merchant of the Staple, Calais , and Joan his wife, formerly wife of Morgan Williams , deceased, acknowledges to have received of the abbot of Oseney 5 marks sterling of a certain annual rent of 20 marks, payable for the lives of the said Morgan and Joan. Dated in the church of St. Thomas of Acon, 2 Nov., 18 Hen. VIII.
