Richard the goldsmith grants to John Log , with the assent of his wife Youda , the half of the land which was John and Benedict Ailnoth 's, namely that half towards the north, in the way called Schidert, in the parish of St. Mary, Oxon; paying annually for the same 2s. 6d. For this grant the said John gave one pound of pepper. (c. 1210-20.)
