HEADINGTON. Hugo de Plugenait grants to the church and canons of St. Frideswide the whole of his culture of 32 acres of arable land in Hedindon, extending along the way as you go from Marston to Oxford, and another culture of 16 acres of arable land which lies between Algheresdich and Beulegam; for this grant the said canons gave 40s. of the money of their church. (c. 1210-20.)
