BURTHFELD. Philip de Boville grants to the church and monks of St. Mary Magdalen, Stanesgate, in frankalmoigne, the whole of the land which Nicholas de Bovile his father bought of William de Bovile , viz. 3 acres and one rood in Burthfeld, which lies near the land of John the smith , and extend towards Maldon. (c. 1220-30?.)
