An acknowledgment from William de Hamme , that he has received from sir John Carbonel, sheriff of Essex , by the hands of Roger de Shireburn his clerk, 40s. of silver, which the said John levied of the goods of John de Say to his use by the king's writ. Dated at London the Friday next after the Quindena of St. Martin, 21 Ed. I.
