HENGRAVE. Anselm, the abbot of St. Edmund, grants to Leo and his heirs the manor of Hengrave (Hemegrede) in fee and heirship, to hold of the altar of St. Edmund and of the sacristan, to pay on the altar each year at stated times 100s., &c. (c. 1130-40.)
