Richard de Burghstede, parson of Framlingham at the Castle (Framelingham at the Castter), grants to Edmund de St. Clauo, son and heir of John de St. Clauo, and Agnes his wife, all his lands, rents, &c. in the villages of Coddenham (Codenham), Crowfield (Croffeld), Creeting St Mary (Creeting St. Mary), Creeting All Saints, Creeting St Olave (Creeting St. Olave), Earl Stonham (Stonham Earls), Stonham Aspal (Stonham Antegaine), and Little Stonham (Stonham Gernegan). Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday after the feast of All Saints, 11 Ed. III (2 Nov. 1337). (Clauo: see MS. Ch. Suffolk 522b, his name occurs frequntly. On 522b and in 635 the name is clearly written "Clavo". In many other deeds it is very uncertain.)
