⟨Bury St Edmunds (?).⟩ Adam, son of Hervey de Hopetun, grants to God, St. Mary and St. Peter, and the infirm brethren of St. Eudmund, viz. of the house of St. Peter, that land which Andrew the janitor of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund) was accustomed to hold, except one rood which Adam gave to the brethren of St. Nicholas in frankalmoigne; also he gives to them ½lb of cummin which the brethren of St. Nicholas were accustomed to pay him. (c. 1210-20.) Witn. Adam provost of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund), Wdard mayor, etc.
