Indenture dated 10 Decemb., 37 Hen. VIII (1545), by which Richard Freston of Mendham (Mendham in the co. of Suffolk), lord of Wickham Skeith (Wykhamskeyth), demises to John Brame of Stoke Ash (Stokeasshe) (The name is clearly Brame in the rental record), for £10 14s. 6d. in hand paid, one close called Grenecroft lying in Wickham Skeith (Wykhamskeyth), for 1000 years, at an annual rent of 1d.
