Indenture dated 4 Oct., 33 Elizabeth (1591), by which John Wentworth of Somerleyton, gent., demises to Thomazen Cowper of Ashby (Asheby) his fish-house in Ashby and his two ponds on the east part of the said house, and also a certain whorde called the old whorde belonging to the manor of Ashby, and the waters in Ashby (Asheby), Herringfleet (Heringflete), and Lound, for 10 years, for specified large quantities of fish, or else at an annual rent of 46s. 8d.
