Convention between Hugh Gernegan of one part and Ralph 'le petit' of the other, by which the said Ralph grants to Hugh the half of the acquisitions which he is able to acquire upon the land of Walter de Watham by writ of right, the said Hugh paying all the cost, and Ralph making no agreement without his consent, under mutual penalty of ten marks, and submitting themselves to the jurisdiction of the bishop of Norwich. (c. 1240-50.)
