Henry Botyld of Brandon, rector of the church of Somerleyton (Somerleton), John Jeckys of Erpingham (Erpyngham), chaplain, and Edmund de Cagleton (?), chaplain, recite a feoffment of John atte Hyl of Ashby (Askeby) of lands &c. in the villages of Ashby (Askeby), Somerleyton (Somerleton), Herringfleet (Harryngflete), and elsewhere in the hundred of Mutford and Lothingland Hundred (Londyngland), to Edmund atte Hil, paying to the said Henry and others by two instalments 200s.; by this present writing they acknowledge to have received the said sum of Edmund atte Hil. Dated at Ashby (Askeby) the Monday next after the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, 48(?) Ed. III. [Partially legible]
