MELTON (Little). Anselm, the abbot, with the counsel of the brethren of the church of St. Bennet of Holm, grants to Ralph, son of Godric , the land of lesser Medeltune, which his father Godric, the steward, with Ingreda his wife, gave to St. Bennet, to hold the same so long as he lives for 10s. per ann.; and after his death the right heirs of Ralph shall give 40s. for the same; and if he has no heir the same land shall remain quit and free to God and St. Bennet, and the brethren of Holm. [Anselm, abbot, 1133-1140).
