CROUCHESTOKE. Daniel, the abbot, and chapter of the church Stoke Holy Cross of St. Bennet of Holm, granted to Rotbert Picot in fee and heirship the whole land which the said church has in Grenesville for 60 measures of wheat annually; the said Rotbert by consent granted the same land to Beatrice his wife in dower to her and her heirs at the same rent, in the presence of the whole chapter, who by this charter confirm the same. [Daniel, abbot, c. 1150-1153.] .
