HOLDEN. Letters patent of Queen Elizabeth , dated at Westminster 22 May, 27th year of her reign, granting to John Gate of Holden the manor house of Holden, with houses and lands in Howden &c., for the term of years unexpired of a lease made by Richard, bp. of Durham , 13 July last, to the crown of the said premises for 90 years, paying annually £34 0s. 8d.
