FARNLAY and WOODHOUSE. Roger de Notton grants to Baldewin the Teuton the whole of his land of Farnlay and Whudehuse within and without the village, being 3 carucates, the fourth of the knight's fee, also the homage and service of William de Ruelay and his heirs, paying yearly three shillings. For this gift the said Baldwin and Margery his wife quit-claim to the said Roger all right in land at Silkeston which she had by the name of dowry of Gilbert de Notton Roger's father and formerly her husband. (c. 1233-40.) .
